(More customer reviews)I purchased this at Bestbuy with some gift cards. I have an entertainment PC in my setup so I was a little concerened about the auto switching feature. Since I never shut the PC off...I was concerend that the auto switch would continuously switch between inputs. No problems. I've been switching back and forth between DirecTV and the PC and all is good.
I only wish there wasn't such a long delay between source switching. 5 seconds isn't a long time to wait, but I wasn't expecting any kind of delay. This is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)The unit I have works perfectly and I have no problem switching between my XBOX, Sony Playstation, and cable box. I tried all of the inputs and they worked fine, although I am now using it to switch component video signals only. There appears to be no degradation in signal quality, even at 1080i. Note that although Philips describes this as a 4 device selector switch only 3 of the 4 positions accept component inputs, so if you are planning to use component signals keep that in mind. The other (lower quality) signal types are supported on all four channels. Also, it does not come with a component video cable so I had to run out and buy one to connect to my TV. I secured the unit to the top of my component cabinet using velcro.

(More customer reviews)Works perfectly. I bought my HD television before HD was the thing to have, so it only had on HDMI cable port. This switch allows me to plug both my HD SAT reciever and my Blue Ray player into the tv. I looked at the ones that has a remote for switching, but then figured "well you have to get up to put the disc in the player anyway." Plus I have too many remotes as it is, its just something else for the kids to not be allowed to play with who do anyway. It was inexpensive and does its job, what more can you ask for?

Terk HDMI-31 Smart HDMI Switch (3 X 1) Review

(More customer reviews)When I bought my plasma TV a year ago, I never imagined that I would want to connect more than one HDMI device. That changed when I bought a DVD player with HDMI and the ability to upconvert DVD's to near HD quality. After first considering spending $400+ on a new receiver with dual HDMI ports, I opted to first try this device for about $65. Money saved. The device automatically switches between the cable and DVD inputs when I turn them on and I now can enjoy the much improved DVD video quality (I had been using composite video on the DVD player) that comes from HDMI. There is no change in the input quality from my cable box HDMI input. There was virutaly no setup involved. I simply unplugged my TV's existing HDMI connection from the cable box and plugged it into the output on the Terk box. Then I ran HDMI cables from the DVD and cable box to two of the three inputs on the Terk box and powered up. That was it. Rather than buy super costly HDMI cables, I purchased two HDMI cables from Abacus 24-7 (an Amazon contractor) at $6.99 each. They work like a charm. Since for audio I use a recevier rather than my TV speakers and my receiver is not HDMI capable, I have connected my receiver to the audio outputs of my cable box and DVD player using digital fiber optical cable and get all the capability of surround sound that I could want. Those optical cables are $5.99 each from Abacus (I found them for $12.99 to $25.99 at Fry's Electronics).
Update as of May 11, 2007. Still working like a charm. I haven't had to do anything to the unit and I basically forget it is there.
Update as of June 13, 2007. I now use my computer as a digital recording device, like a TIVO-type box. I record HDTV over the air using a Terk HDTV antenna and a Hauppauge HDTV capture card. My computer graphics card has a DVI output, so I bought a DVI to HDMI converter cable ($12 at Amazon) which connects my computer to one of the HDMI source inputs on the Terk HDMI-31 Switch. It operates flawlessly. Another reason to have Terk's multiple HDMI connection capability.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this HDMI Auto Switch last month, and it works just perfectly. I connected my TiVo HD DVR and DVD recorder up to this switch and into my HD TV, so that both of my components could share a single HDMI connection, and it works like a charm. Anytime that I want to watch a DVD, I only power on the DVD recorder, and the switcher automatically switches from the TiVo DVR to the DVD recorder. When I power off the DVD recorder, the switcher automatically switches back to the DVR, just like the product description on this Amazon.com site states.
I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone and everyone out there who have multiple devices with an HDMI connection. The great advantage to having this HDMI switcher is that the user does NOT have to physically get up and push any buttons on the switcher just to use one of their HDMI connected components like their DVD recorder, DVR, etc. This HDMI Auto Switch sure beats the heck out of other HDMI switchers that require the user to physically get up and PUSH the buttons on the switcher just to use a different HDMI connected device.
To all out there with multiple HDMI connected devices, this product is an AWESOME buy for YOU.

(More customer reviews)Great little piece of gear. I've got an older plasma HDTV with only one HDMI input, but I needed to hook up three HDMI devices. This works perfectly for the task, and having the remote is great. I'm using it inside a cabinet in conjunction with a Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote Control which has an RF capability (the Logitech controls the IOGear HDMI switch with no problem), so I am still able to use a single remote to control everything I have hooked up to the television (an Apple Mac mini MB138LL/A (1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, Combo Drive), a TiVo TCD652160 HD Digital Video Recorder and a Roku Digital Video Player) and the HDMI switch at the same time.
