Purchased a Mac Mini. Needed a DVI cable.
My only local choices were Radio Shack and Circuit City.
RS had only one choice, a $105 dollar Monster Cable (6'). Pass
CC had only once option, a Belkin for $70. Bought, knowing that I wanted a cable immediately, but also figuring I'd find a cheaper one online. And find it I did, in less than 90 seconds.
Looking at my display (a ViewSonic N3200W 32" LCD TV/Monitor), I cannot tell the difference between the two. So.. Returned the $70 cable and am very happy paying only 15% as much, even including shipping (The cable came 2 days later, even without "expedited shipping").
So.. Great cable at a great price.

First: the included level sucks! I checked my first line with it against my real level, and it was WAY OFF. Go buy a decent level before attempting to mount this to a wall.
Second: No where in my research did I see that this mount was intended for concrete walls only. It's clearly spelled out as such on the instructions. That said, the lag bolts were exactly what I would have purchased to mount something like this to a wall stud, so I'm quite confident that they will hold the mount & TV up fine.
Third: The TV I mounted to it is a 42" LG 42LD450. It's outside the size rating of the mount, but at less than 30 pounds, and with a VESA 200 bolt pattern, it was well within its capabilities. That said, I would not attach a 65 pound TV to this mount unless no one would ever be underneath it. It would just scare me. That much weight at the end of such a long articulating arm would put a LOT of moment of inertia on the wall mount. I got 4 screws into a stud, and I'm not afraid it would fail...but 65# is a lot of weight to have 18" away from the wall.
Fourth: The TOS link cable shipped without any kind of protective sack - it was just tumbling around in the box. Being an optical cable, I can't imagine that was good for it, but I haven't tested it to see if it works or not.
Fifth, when you do mount your TV to the bracket, I found it easier to stand behind the TV and hold it up to the mount so you can see where the holes are lining up. That way, the person attaching the screws doesn't have to try to direct you where to move - you can see it. After failing 3 times to do it from the front, I tilted the bracket up to it's maximum then held the TV in place from behind. Worked like a champ.

I have owned this TV for just shy of two years and it is already starting to die. With hundreds of reports on the net Sony has yet to issue a recall for this problem. The screen starts to go out and you get a ghosting and dark effect for the first half an hour while it is on I would not recommend this TV to any one.

Great DVI Converter...excellent quality. It worked perfectly via my HDMI cord when I used my PS3 on my Dell E228WFP 22" Monitor. Visuals on the LCD were amazing. There weren't any apparent loss of visuals. I would recommend this item...
1 thing though, the seller "Eforcity" has a thing for rapidly changing the price on this cable. I bought it for $1.92 a week ago, and as I write this review, the price is $11.48....that is not cool. So, keep that in mind as you buy it.
Overall, wonderful and effective item.

This wall mount is great the only problem is that it doesn't allow for the screen to be adjusted clock wise or counter clock wise. The only screen adjustments are two pivot points for pitch, one horizontal and one vertical. The screen only stays straight when the arm is closed. The closer to the closed position the straighter it gets. When the arm is opened the screen immediately has a bad tilt to it and appears lop sided. There is no pivot point to compensate for this tilt. Its a small issue that only bothers me every so often, when I have to extend the arm out. Other than that, the entire unit is very sturdy and well worth the money.

Average Reviews:

First of all, I've done tons of researching before settled with this TV. The brands I've considered are Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi and of course Sony. I'll list the reasons why I end up choosing Sony.
1. Picture quality. This set has a jaw dropping HD picture quality, and its BE2 engine does an excellent job processing non-HD signals. The highly rated Samsung's A650 also has excellent picture quality, but have to compromise with its reflective screen. Why deal with reflections when you can have a non-reflective screen with just as good pictures?
2. Sound quality, this is by far the best sounding LCD TV in the crowd I've been researching for. Most people own a theater sound system, so they think this is a non-issue. I own a theater sound system too, but I only turn it on when watching DVDs or play certain games. It is just not as convenient, and power efficient to have just a single TV running. So sound does matter.
3. TV Guide, nice touch, great for users without a cable box, none of other brands have this feature yet, except maybe Mitsubishi, but not nearly as nice.
4. PIP and P&P, this feature is available even in composite video and S-video, unlike Samsung, its PIP available only in PC, HDMI and Component inputs. Similar models from Toshiba and Mitsubishi don't even have PIP.
5. Good Value. Sony 2008's TV line up has significantly priced lower compare with its previous models. The V series represents the best value in its lineup. The S series is cheaper but lacking BE2 video processing, TV Guide, and P&P(Picture and Picture), just to name a few. Move up in the line up you get W series with 120Hz. 120Hz is really more of a hype than anything else. This set is already equipped with motion flow and 24P True Cinema, 120Hz make little to no difference. It does not seem to justify the extra $300+ premium. If you absolutely want this latest technology, go with the W or Z series.
With all the features you need, and excellent picture quality and sound, you can't possibly go wrong with this Sony set.

OmniMount Power40 Articulating Motorized Wall Mount for 23" to 46" Displays (Black) Review

OmniMount Power40 Articulating Motorized Wall Mount for 23 to 46 Displays (Black)
Average Reviews:

Bought this product to mount a 40" Samsung LED TV. The mount was easy to install and set-up. The trickiest part of the install is hiding the wires (for TV and mount motor) for a professional look. I chose to run my wiring into the wall behind the TV for a clean look. Take time and plan this part before cutting into your wall! When the mount is not extended, it rests very close to the wall for an extremely low profile look. This works especially well for thin LED TVs or rooms with limited space. The mount swivels into 3 programmable positions allowing the TV to have multiple watching positions. I can swivel the TV so that I can watch it from the recliner, hit the remote, and continue watching TV while grilling on the patio! I absolutely recommend this product to anyone with a room where you want the flexibility to watch TV from different positions and the ability to very easily change positions with the touch of a button.

Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

This is a great HDTV. Hands down is one of the most beautiful displays in this size. You can buy a fancier ultra-thin 32" TV from Samsung right now but it's almost twice the price!
Pros: The blacks are black! When you start it up, the Bravia logo appears on a black background and it's as black as when the TV is off! People say that edge LED lighting will make the blacks truer with less backlight bleeding but this TV is already great in this aspect. The colors and settings are very good out of the box for a few of the styles but need adjustment like any TV. The nice thing is that when you change your input, the TV remembers all the settings for that input! So it's like you never have to re-adjust your settings unless you plug your stuff in differently.
The motionflow frame interpolation technology is astounding! 120HZ with the motionflow is worth every penny for bluray and other high-def sources. That's why I waited for this over the XBR6. I however prefer the lifelike "soap-opera" look, but that's me (I have to say PE or the Pirates movies look stunning with it on!). You can turn it off or have this appear more more subtle (the default). The motionflow is basically a side-effect of the necessity to combat blurriness and the staggering "judder" effect inherent to LCDs. It adds one or more frames in between each frame of your source by interpolating entirely NEW frames that were never there by the TV's processor. technology is amazing, isn't it? You have to see it in person to get exactly what this looks like. Other companies are following suit but I find others like the 32 TOC Samsung have more motion artifacts (basically errors ie grabbing parts of the audience behind a fast-moving player in a sports event and dragging them along for the ride). Sony's Bravia processor is second to none. For upconverted sources not originally in 1080 and compressed 1080 cable, the motion technology is less noticeable. So the overall effectiveness depends on how clear the material is.
This is important--with the game mode on, which turns off most processing, there is almost NO LAG. I am one of those demanding gamers who is very sensitive and complains about miniscule things like how much play there is in a joystick. So I can tell you that there is still a little lag but the game mode makes fast games like Smash Bros and shooters play like my CRT. So losing the motionflow in the game mode might seem bad, but it's only a small difference especially on something like the 480p Wii. And Wii games with anti-aliasing like Metroid Prime 3 still look AWESOME in contrast to what most say. The PS3 does look AMAZING either with or without motionflow anyway!
Cons: Not many but the sound is tinny. What do you expect from such small speakers? If you spent this much on a 32 TV and don't have speakers then you should not complain.
There is no headphone jack. I use a mixer with a control-room out to get around this and it works fine.
The autodim is annoying but mainly happens for me when the room is VERY dark. In normal light I do not see it. And you cannot turn it off but with as many people as are complaining about it, all Sony has to do is release a firmware update to allow the switching on and off of it (Sony, are you reading this?)...
CLARIFICATIONS-----
Here are some points that I thought were incorrect in some other reviews so I felt compelled to make this clear to potential buyers.
Okay some people just don't do their research in TVs. Sony's top line of HDTVs is the XBR line. The XBRs are split into the standard and then two higher end levels. Last year we had the XBR6s (standard XBR), XBR7s (larger fancier models) and XBR8 (larger still fancier models). This XBR9 IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR XBR8!! It replaces the XBR6 and the XBR8 was WAY more money and there was not even a 32" one available! The reviewer who complained about there being no LED backlighting is wrong in getting upset because the XBR6 never had LED lighting and the XBR8 is a higher end unit which is different that the XBR9s. Sony will undoubtedly release an XBR10 and XBR11 or something to replace those two higher lines. Maybe in the next few years Sony will add edge LED lighting to the standard XBR line unless something like OLED takes off...
Next the TV takes about as long to start up as my over 10-year-old Sony Trinitron 32" XBR CRT does. Some models take longer some don't but it certainly is not 30 seconds! That reviewer must have gotten a problem unit or need a firmware update or something. Also, to change input, all you have to do is push "Input" then push that arrows up or down and that's it. Wow if that is too much for you, then technology is not your thing. Maybe you should hire someone to push the buttons for you so you don't have to. Come on.
The thing has many inputs and, yes, some are on the side. On bigger TVs this would probably get covered up so on this one you can see some cabling if you have a thick cable that cannot bend easily. If you are clever you can use the cord-management strap to clean this up but my thick Monstercable does not bend that easily so I do see it. Oh well. So with thinner types of cables that bend back easily you should be fine. It's common knowledge that you get the same quality in a $5 HDMI cable as a $200 one because it is digital; getting a cheap thin one should solve the side cable-view problem. I wanted a more durable cable though.
This is a relatively high-end HDTV that means it's designed to be used primarily to view HD content over a HDMI cables. That's why over half it's inputs are HDMI. So if you have a ton of stuff in composite or component, sorry, but Sony is trying to cater to the people who utilize the TV primarily for what it was designed for. Get a splitter/switcher or upgrade your cables to HDMI because, again, no matter how crappy your HDMI cables are, there is NO signal loss. There's an advantage to update anyway.
Also contrary to popular belief numbers across different manufacturers ARE NOT EQUIVALENT. So comparing Lg to Sony to Samsung is not at all accurate. Think of comparing HP numbers in cars--measuring at the flywheel or tire gets you VERY different results and this often misleads consumers. Trust your eyes on a calibrated set with the same source. I can tell you this TV has more than enough contrast and is improved over last years model.
----
So far I have not had any problems with the TV and it looks amazing. I would recommend this to anyone and if you are internet savvy and find a good company to work with, you can find it for only slightly more than the closeout or last-year's KDL32XBR6 model--about $850 (or less, as in my case) :D
EDIT: Thanks to other posters for mentioning this--Sony has released a firmware update that apparently makes the menus easier to navigate (faster?) and FIXES THE AUTODIM PROBLEM! I am trying to figure out how to install it now...

I bought mine from Sam's Club (for the same price). I was able to look at this right next to a $1150 Samsung LED unit, and it was only 5-10% less impressive than that TV, except that this one is a LCD! Another great feature was that it has audio outputs. I'd purchased a lesser TV and returned it because the audio wouldn't sync up with the HDMI, so people's lips weren't in sync with the sound of their voice on my surround system. Having audio outs fixed that problem. I could brag on this TV for a while, but the most concise way of saying it is that I don't watch TV much, usually DVD and BluRay, a bit of HD Animal Planet maybe. Haven't justified spending money on a new TV before, but this one was simply too good a deal to pass on, too impressive a picture for the money ($649). When I researched it, they were going for over $1000 just a few months before. From the quality of both the sound and the pictures, I tend to think it was worth that price as well!
Summary: Great deal, first-rate product at a discount price. No regrets!

I have been researching TV's for quite awhile trying to determine the best one for me. I have watched the technology continually improve and am amazed by the progress. I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase a television and was certain I was going to purchase a DLP set. I made one of my many trips to the local electronics store to do more comparisons of certain models I had picked out and had not even considered an LCD TV, let alone an LG television. I was walking along the displays when my girlfrined actually pointed out the TV to me. I took a brief look and didn't see anything special and it was only upon closer inspection that I discovered what an awesome TV the LG 42LB5D is.
First, I set all of the neighboring 42" Televisions to the same HDTV signal (which anyone can do- just select the input on the tv's until they all show the same signal). I was never a fan of LCD TV's due to the pixelation in fast scenes-usually sports. This TV did the best job of displaying fast-moving sequences with very little pixelation, even better than the nearby Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, and Sharp models. My curiosity was piqued. I don't know if it is because of the proprietary software they use to render the image or if it is because the LCD panel has a 5ms response time. In case you don't know, a 5ms response time for an LCD panel is very, very fast. Alot of the other manufacturers have an 8ms response time. The faster the response time of the panel, the better it is able to render fast changing images.

Next, I switched the channels to a standard definition signal. Since most of what is on cable and satellite is broadcast in SDTV, it would be a good idea to pick a TV that does a good job of displaying that signal without making it look so bad. This television does an amazing job of displaying SDTV signals. Of course, it'll never be as good as a plain old CRT TV, but it does one heckuva job! Now I was getting really impressed.
The colors were bright and looked as good as the brand new Samsung LNT-4265, though the Samsung had a little deeper blacks. I don't think the extra few hundred dollars I would have had to pay would be worth that. Especially considering the better pixelation performace I noticed on the LG. (Pixelation annoys the heck out of me, by the way.)
I started checking out the specs. It has a clear QAM tuner that allows you to receive digital cable signals without the cable box. That usually means you can get all of the local network (ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, PBS) hi-def and secondary digital channels for free over your cable line (as long as you're not using a cable box connected to your TV). After I took it home, I found I had all of those channels. It has 3 HDMI inputs. It accepts 1080p via HDMI, Component, and VGA inputs. The VGA input was especially important to me because I have the XBOX 360 HD-DVD player and the only way to view movies in 1080p is via the VGA output from the 360. If not for that, I'd only be able to view my HDDVD's in 720p or 1080i.
I am incredibly pleased with this purchase and I gotta thank my girlfriend for noticing it or it would have slipped right past me. I know to take a review from a website with a grain of salt because you never really know who is writing it. The only thing I can tell you is to find a store that has one on display and do exactly what I did. I guarantee you'll see what I'm talking about.

This is a great product. The cable is well-built and sturdy. I had no trouble connecting my laptop to my LCD TV. The amazing thing is it is able to transmit video at 1920x1080 @60Hz resolution (don't know if its a big deal). My laptop lacks an HDMI out port so had to use this. It does the job as good as an HDMI cable would do.
Absolutely no hassle in handling multiple cables...a VGA-to-VGA and auxiliary cable. Would definitely recommend it.

Peerless SGLB01 Universal Floor Stand with Clear Glass Shelf for 32"-50" Displays - Black Review

Peerless SGLB01 Universal Floor Stand with Clear Glass Shelf for 32-50 Displays - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased a Peerless SGLB01 Floor Stand for a 46" in samsung LCD, and it turned out great. Then I bought another for an LG 47LH40, only to learn halfway through setup that it is not compatible with this particular 47" TV. This stand's mounting bracket supports either universal brackets or VESA 100 X 100. My LG requires VESA 200 X 200, so right now I'm stuck with a stand that won't mount my TV, even though it fits their specification of being between 32"-50". What a bummer!
I called peerlessmount's tech support and they told me I could buy the plp-v2x2 mounting bracket adapter, and that would make it work. That sounded ok until I looked on their website and found that it was $130. The entire TV stand was only about $250, so this seems like highway robbery to me. If I'd known the cost of this stand was effectively going to be 50% more, I might have chosen another stand.
In all fairness, if you go to the peerless website, you can type in your TV's model to find out if it's supported. But I bought it on amazon, and there's no such option there. If you do buy this stand, make sure you check for compatibility. On the other hand, my first TV was not listed as supported either, and it turned out to be supported, so their list isn't the best source of information. Better would be to find out what mounting system your TV supports and make sure the stand also supports it. I'm new to TV mounting. I guess I'm learning the hard (read expensive) way. No help from peerless or amazon there.
On the bright side, the TV stand does look good, assuming it's compatible with your TV!
Update: It seems you can find peerless adapter for around $65 if you shop around. It's strange peerlessmount's site causes twice as much for the same product.

Works GREAT! Better than that, one port runs on a 40ft HDMI cable to a SECOND THREE PORT SPLITTER. One other port goes to a HDMI over ethernet adapter I purchased on monoprice.com. You are safe buying this splitter. It works as advertised.

Sony Bravia XBR KDL-32XBR4 32" LCD HDTV Review

Sony Bravia XBR KDL-32XBR4 32 LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

The XBR4 has blown my socks off. On display at the electronic store it actually looked worse than my other LCD Samsung LN-3241D. After fine tuning and adjusting the picture, whether it was recent non-HD DVD's or HD content, with the 120Hz Motionflow, Pixar's Toy Story looked 3 dimensional, and the colors were nothing I had seen before from this DVD. I am so happy with this purchase and the higher price tag is well worth it. I also watched a streamed Netflix movie (Amadeus), using the PC input, and the movie quality was ok. With the Samsung the streamed quality is noticeably not as rich in color and a bit grainier. I Recommend this LCD TV. Sony is definitely the leader in high end TV's. P.S. I am not a Sony fan boy, I am still angry about the root kit found on their CD's.

The Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR4 32-inch 720 LCD Flat Panel HDTV continues Sony's tradition of making outstanding televisions. The display features a 32-inch screen that is perfect for a smaller room. Sony does not hold back with any technologies, and the XBR series is its flagship line--so with the XBR, you know you'll get the best quality home theater experience available.
Top-Notch Video Performance The XBR KDL-32XBR4 is a 720p television with a display resolution of 1366 x 768 resolution for a sharp HD picture. The KDL-32XBR4 uses the HDMI connection, which houses both audio and video signals in one connector and has the bandwidth to support the data necessary for the high resolution. Sony's Bravia Engine Video Processing System converts all video signals to 720p, so you can watch all your old DVDs on this glorious display.
Sony complements the high resolution with the latest technology in color reproduction. The KDL-32XBR is a 10-bit display with 10-bit processing. Most panels are only 8-bit. The added bit depth here means a larger color palette for more faithful color reproduction and smoother transitions from one color to the next. Additionally, the display features a special WCG-CCFL backlight that, combined with Sony's Live Color Creation system, achieves more natural and vibrant color.
The KDL-32XBR4 features Sony's Motionflow technology, which automatically adjusts for and applies the proper processing for optimal motion reproduction depending on the video input. This includes support for 24 frames per second (24p) video, which displays video content at the 24-frames-per-second rate at which it was originally filmed or recorded. With 24p, you get the most faithful possible reproduction of the original.
A Wide Variety of Inputs This Sony television's wide variety of inputs ensures compatibility with your other home theater components. There are three HDMI connections for Blu-Ray, HD DVD, and other technologies requiring the high bandwidth, and two component video inputs, three composite video inputs, one S-Video input, one PC Audio and Video input, two RF connection inputs, and five analog audio inputs. Even with a collection of legacy components, you shouldn't have a problem connecting to the KDL-32XBR4.
Stunning Looks The KDL-32XBR4 not only displays stunning video but is itself a head-turner. It features Sony's unique floating glass frame along with a black bezel that can be interchanged with optional color bezels to match the display to your decor.
Outstanding Ergonomics and Simplicity of Control Sony's Xross Media Bar interface is an award-winning, intuitive on-screen display that makes setup a breeze, with menus and controls logically laid out for quick access. The KDL-32XBR4 also features Theatre Sync technology, based on the HDMI-CEC standard, which means you can easily connect to and control compatible devices. For example, when the KDL-32XBR4 is connected to a compatible DVD player, you can turn on both the DVD player and the television and start playing a DVD with a single push of a button on the remote. When you're done, another push of a button powers everything down. With Theatre Sync, you can spend time enjoying the movie rather than waste time setting everything up.
Cutting Edge Sound Using a set of Sony algorithms, the KDL-32XBR4 is capable of generating realistic surround sound from just the two speakers in the TV. With Sony's S-Force Front Surround technology, you can have surround sound no matter the shape or size of your room.
The KDL-32XBR4 is backed by a 1-year limited warranty for parts and labor.

Samsung SyncMaster 192MP 19" LCD Monitor with TV Tuner (Silver) Review

Samsung SyncMaster 192MP 19 LCD Monitor with TV Tuner (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been waiting to upgrade to an LCD monitor. After reading the review on Samsungs smaller *MP monitors, I knew that I wanted a built in tuner, but I also knew I wouldn't be as satisfied with a 17" LCD.
Read the announcement on this model months ago, but Samsung was forever getting it to market. Very happy I waited for it.
Picture is wonderful using the analog 15pin input, has DVI as well, but I probably won't bother with until I upgrade video card. Can't imagine that my picture will improve much.
Response time is faster that most LCD's. DVD's, online games, etc. look great. Every pixel works.
Was really suprised by the sound quality. I had planned to set up external speakers to enhance the sound. After hearing the sound on this, I'm not in any rush. The finest sound I've heard from any multimedia monitor. (and I've owned the incredible Toshiba with the built in subwoofer).
If you don't require or think you might want the built in tuner, Samsung has some similarly spec'd 19" lcd's that are more reasonably priced.
I'm glad I purchased this one.

With a 1,280 x 1,024 maximum resolution, 25 ms response time, and 0.294 dot pitch, images are crisp and accurate, and a high 700:1 contrast ratio and 260 cd/m2 of brightness result in easy-to-see images and text. The 192MP supports a wide range of inputs through its 15-pin D-sub, DVI-D, S-video, component, and TV (antenna/cable) connections.
With a 17-by-7.8-inch footprint, the 192MP takes up very little space; the wall-mount option lets you free up your valuable desktop completely. The monitor consumes about 62 watts of power during normal operation and meets TCO '99 emission standards. Plug-and-play compatibility makes setup quick and easy. Compatible with both PC and Mac operating platforms, the 192MP also comes backed with by a three-year limited warranty on parts, labor, and backlight.
