(More customer reviews)I purchased a 32" flat panel LCD HDTV for our bedroom and wanted to wall mount it to get it off the floor and take advantage of it's thin profile. The problem was finding decent mounting systems at our local "Big Box" electronic stores. Not to mention the high price. After a lengthy Internet search, I settled on this brand and model. We wanted to be able to move our TV to different positions (while still being fixed mounted on the wall) so we could watch it from various points in our bedroom (from the bed, from a sitting area, from the bathroom, etc). Most of the mounts I found on the Internet cost a fortune and did little more than tilt your TV up and down. This Peerless arm does so much more. It swings, swivels, and tilts to virtually any viewing angle you can imagine or need. Plus the mounting plate will fit virtually any LCD or plasma model. I suggest visiting the Peerless web site for specific information regarding compatibility with your TV brand and model.
Prices for this item were all over the board during my Internet research. I would discourage you from shopping at the lowest price sources listed at Amazon.com. I went through the long ordering process with Beach Audio.com only to find out (at the last ordering screen) that their shipping and handling costs were about twice the cost of the arm! What a deceiving rip-off. Instead, I purchased the arm through [...]. This web site has a bounty of useful information about TV and monitor mounting options. I highly recommend a look here for information, even if you don't buy from them.
I received the mount via UPS in about five days (the $9.99 shipping and handling was much more reasonable than other places). I am a "do it yourselfer" and found the installation to be easy. I think if you are even a bit mechanically inclined and have basic tools you won't have much trouble installing the unit. Find a wall stud, mark the location of the arm on the wall, drill two pilot holes into the stud, screw the arm into the wall stud with two large wood screws and screw the TV into the arm's support plate. Even if you mount the arm a bit crooked, you can still level the TV with one of the arm's adjustment screws. I highly recommend having two or more people available to help hold the TV in place while attaching it to the support arm plate.
I am very, very pleased with this articulating arm. It looks great, only sticks out about 3 inches from the wall, it has a neat system for hiding the power cord and cable wires from view, and it can be adjusted effortlessly to an infinite number of viewing angles. I was a bit leery of placing a $1000+ TV investment on a wall mount, but this unit is surprisingly strong. Even though the TV weighs a lot, the arm moves it around with very little effort.
If you are looking for a wall mounted articulating arm with lots of flexibility for TV viewing angles, this is a great, ingenious product.

(More customer reviews)I bought this mount for the price and because of the full motion and the claim that it was for tv's up to 55 inches and 180 lbs. But this mount is cheap and not very durable. I have a 54 inch Panasonic Plasma which weighs 84 lbs. and the TV does not sit straight up on the mount. The TV is tilted forward because the mount can't hold the weight. The piviot bar is not strong enough for the weight of the TV. and I don't know if it is going to hold this TV for very long. Don't buy this for a big TV which is heavy, it will not hold the weight. Not to mention the free HDMI cable is about as thin as a phone line. I would not recomend this mount.

(More customer reviews)This mount is heavy and has a lot of strength to support heavy panels. The cable management is much better than competing products that don't even attempt to hide cables. Be careful and take your time - the covers are made of plastic and make break if you try to force them. I would have liked to see metal covers, but with appropriate installation, they work fine and Omnimount may have been trying to keep the weight of the mount down. The cantilever arms are attractive and don't look as utilitarian as a Sanus or Peerless mount. They have a distinct strong and techy look.
Installation took me an hour, but there's no reason to rush the install. A mistake in preparation just makes it take many times longer. I recommend that you make sure you have a good stud finder and then use a finish nail to test the edges of your stud location. You really want to have the lag bolts hit the center of each stud. I used a decent box level and the provided template. The mount base, once lagged onto the wall, is fairly easy. The adapter plate for the plasma attaches easily.
I'd have to say that the hardest part is to have another person able to lift half of 150lbs of plasma tv up to the mount. Thankfully Omnimount has provided a method to rest the adapter on the mount until it can be fastened tightly. I placed a level on top of the plasma after it was mounted and made a tiny adjustment using the adjustment screws to ensure the TV wasn't canted.
So order a pizza, chill the beer, and invite a buddy and make sure you start early enough to watch a game afterward.
Note: many mount instructions show diagrams with the tv screen flat against the floor when installing an adapter on the back... That's not a good idea for a TV that has "this side up" in 17 languages on the box when shipped. Put a blanket on the top edge and lean it against a wall when installing the adapter to the rear of the TV and make sure that you check for depth on your screw holes before chosing the adapter screw.
Lift with your knees ;)

(More customer reviews)I did a lot of research on LCD TV mounts before I bought this one. I looked at the ones in the stores like Best Buy. But they were so expensive and I just could not justify them for use with my 32" 39Lb TV. So I decided on this one and I'm glad I did. This one has an extension arm but you can also use it without the arm. I liked that flexibility. Also even without the extension this mount provides side to side swing as well as tilt. Also it provides rotation which makes mounintg it even easier. I spent a lot of time making sure that the 2 mounting holes were perfectly virtical but it is not critical because you can rotate the TV to a perfect level position even if your 2 mounting holes are not perfectly virtical. All of the hardware for mouning was included and I even had hardware left over becasue the 100mm hole pattern on the mounting plate matched the pattern on my TV.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mount for my LG 47LE5400 TV (LG 47LE5400 47-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with Internet Applications). It's a slim TV, and I was looking for a mount with a narrow profile. The TV is mounted in the bedroom, and normally sits flat against the wall, however I wanted to be able to pull it away from the wall and adjust the angle so that it was visible from the en-suite bathroom.
Installing the mount was relatively straight forward. It is attached to the wall with 2 large lag bolts (supplied). I did find that it was necessary to perform the installation steps in an order other than outlined in the installation manual - I chose to mount the vertical brackets to the back of the TV first, so that I could accurately measure for the vertical position of the mount. The installation instructions suggested that the vertical brackets would be centered top-to-bottom on the TV, but the hole pattern didn't quite line up that way for my TV (VESA 200 mount pattern). It turned out that the center of the mounting area lined up with the center of the TV anyways.
One of the challenges with installing this mount is that it has to be attached to something solid, i.e. a wall stud. This restricts the horizontal placement of the mount. The attachment point is about 6 inches off center from the mount when collapsed tight to the wall, but it can be mounted either to the left or right of center. Depending on your TV, there may be a little room to slide the TV left-right on the bracket once it's attached to the wall. On my TV, the electronics connections prevented much lateral motion.
One of the great things about this mount is that it allow for fine tuning adjustments once it's attached to the wall. This is great since it can be really difficult to get the bracket mounted perfectly vertical on the wall. Once the TV was mounted to the bracket, I was able to loosen 4 retaining nuts in the center of the mount and rotate the TV to ensure that it was level horizontally.
The mount is definitely slim profile. When pushed back to the wall, the TV sits less than one inch from the wall. The mount allows the TV to be pulled away from the wall, rotated horizontally, and tilted vertically. Moving my TV requires 2 hands, but the motion feels smooth and solid, it's not too difficult. Once positioned, it stays in place.
One area for improvement in this mount would be cable management. There were 2 cable-management attachments provided with the mount, but they don't really allow enough attachment points to secure the cables to the mount in a way that allows the cables to stay neat and allow the full range of motion. Also, since it's a slim-profile mount, it's really important that the cables be secured neatly so that they don't get caught between the TV and the wall and prevent the TV from sitting tight to the wall.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the mount.

I mounted it to my wall properly to the stud and got it all set up, but once I had everything as tight as I could get it, it showed a little bit of sag throughout the arms; I made sure to hold the tv up while I was tightening everything in fear of bending the parts. My LCD is only 25-30lbs, and this is rated for 60. I might not trust it for 60 lbs. Either way, my tv still floats nicely in my room and the sag for my tv is minimal, and I do like the way it adjusts so I give it 4 stars out of 5.

(More customer reviews)I got this type wall mount for the swivel side to side and tilt up / down adjustment to view. It has GREAT left / right ( side to side ) movement with OK Tilt adjustment. I have a 50" Pioneer Elite 1140 Plasma ( 80lbs )
The overall wall mount design is OK, they might have made it a bit easier to get to the connections after the mounting hardware is installed ( that cost them a star ) It appears to be sturdy and robust enough to handle the 50" plasma.
The manufatcturer does NOT reccomend this unit for brick or mason. ONLY approved for drywall with wood studs installlation
If you are going to DIY : YOU MUST HAVE 2 PEOPLE...you need extra hands to move the TV and mount it. Don't try it yourself.
Attaching the frame base to the wall: If you are NOT handy with tools and measurements, able to use drills, levels and a stud finder....PAY for installation...this is not time to experiment, a failure will be very expensive.
The wall layout and position of the TV on the wall:
My wall is a drywall and studs 8 feet high, and 8 feet wide to mount against. My TV is 28" high, 48" wide ( without the side speakers attached, 52" attached ) I decided for viewing, the top of the TV was 20" from the ceiling and the bottom of the TV was 48" up from the floor. I left 24" on each side from the TV edge to the side wall. You decide what position will work best for you and locate accordingly. Take good measurements and double check the math.
You MUST BE handy with hand tools and know how to find the studs in drywall. Use a level to be certain, the wall is NOT going to be level / square. Level to the wall frame base, not the wall. The wall frame ( base ) attaches with (4) 3/8" x 2 1/2" lag screws. 1 in each corner of the frame and MUST drill into the center of the studs. Use a good quality stud finder and mark you spots to drill. I used a 1/8" drill bit for a pilot hole to be sure I was hitting wood. I used a 18V drill with a 7/16 socket to drive the 4 lag screws into the 4 pilot holes and left the screw out a few turns. I finished tightening them down by hand with a socket wrench, to make sure it was tight fit, but not overtighten and bust the screw out of the wood as the drill might do. ( Hint put a bit of turtle wax or liquid dish soap on the lag screw threads to make them go in a bit easier )
I was a bit luck here, there was a cross piece of wood between the studs right where I wanted to mount, so I put in an extra lag screw in the frame center from my own screw supply for just in case.
Attaching the mount to the TV: YOU MUST protect the TV face / screen
You have to lay the TV on it's face to attach the hardware on the back. Lay down a nice soft blanket, nothing rough to protect the surface and screen. I used the dining room table with a soft quilt. The included instructions were OK, not great for attaching the mounting hardware. BEWARE there is a chance of PINCH POINTS as the mounting hardware can swivel.
After the mounting hardware is attached, and the base frame is secure to the wall, now is the time. 2 people to attach the TV to the frame base. It attaches easy, but the bottom screws to tighten were hard to turn. Be prepared to catch the TV after first installing to the wall incase of any screw failure or hardware issues.
Important note: Flush against the wall the TV may be level and when fully extended it may be off just a bit. As the TV get further away from the wall, the arm mount acts more like a lever than a mount and applies force to the base bracket differently than when it is a flush fit.
There are mounting adjustments to level the TV after wall installation.
All in all...it wasn't too bad a project. About 2 hours from beginning to end and watching the TV.

I needed one with a lot of movement, and the ability to pull far from the wall, this way it could be mounted in a corner. This did the job perfectly. The mount had plenty of holes for the mounting bolts, which helped out with the studs on that section of my wall not being standard distance apart.

The instructions were absolutely terrible for this thing. They were not needed for me, but I can see where it would be a problem for many other people. Its a bit unwieldy securing it, so if you are weak, don't install it alone. The tools you will need are: Drill and bits (pilot holes into the studs), nut driver or rachet, level, stud sensor, and screwdrivers.
All in all, an excellent product. Took me about 30 minutes from receiving the box to mounting it on the wall, but expect it to take upwards of an hour and a half. It holds up my 46" with ease, and allows me to swivel the TV easily.

But it does come with a good HDMI cable and lot's of hardware to choose from to fasten the TV to the arm. Unit is very strong and sturdy and articulates well under the weight of the TV.

The GSI GDM2B is a very substantial mount with Dual arms and heavy guage steel. The arms extend over 20" from the wall yet fold to less than 5". Even at full extension, this mount has very little sag or twist. It is rated for up to 165lbs and most displays 55" and smaller weigh under 100lbs. The unit has dual tilt adjustment knobs and it will tilt forward or back 15 degrees. The wall plate is 19" wide and has wide slots making it easy to mount into standard 16" studs even if they are not exactly 16" apart. Thus, the arms may be visible on the sides of 32" units. The universal design will fit any display with a hole pattern up to 26.3" wide and 18" tall. (More customer reviews)This wall mount is great the only problem is that it doesn't allow for the screen to be adjusted clock wise or counter clock wise. The only screen adjustments are two pivot points for pitch, one horizontal and one vertical. The screen only stays straight when the arm is closed. The closer to the closed position the straighter it gets. When the arm is opened the screen immediately has a bad tilt to it and appears lop sided. There is no pivot point to compensate for this tilt. Its a small issue that only bothers me every so often, when I have to extend the arm out. Other than that, the entire unit is very sturdy and well worth the money.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mount because I wanted the flexibility to position my new flat panel away from the wall at different angles and distances. I had seen a couple of others but was wary of the way they attached to the wall with just a single vertical bar. This one comes with a boilerplate quality rectangular plate that mounts with 4 large screws. There are plenty of screw holes to allow for variations in stud spacing. It is highly recommended that you have it professionally mounted, but since that can cost as much as the price of the mount itself, and I'm handy with stuff like this, I did it myself with a little help from two others. The biggest potential problem was mounting the wall plate level, because the the arm attaches to the hardware on the flat panel with just one screw and the slightest tilt could send the panel careening into the wall, especially if the arm is extended. You can tilt the mounting point where the TV is attached, but don't think that this will compensate for poor leveling. So if you get pro installation, make sure that they get it absolutely level, even if it doesn't look that way (your ceiling or floor may not be true level). If you mount it yourself, the biggest risk is dropping your TV or getting a hernia trying to hang it on the wall plate. Instead of mounting the TV with the arm attached (per the directions), consider mounting it with the arm attached to the wall plate instead. I followed the directions, and it was scary. Also, you may find the bolts provided for the TV hardware to be either too short or too long. That was my situation, so I sawed the ends off the long bolts rather than use the short ones.
The result overall is very good. The ability to bring the set a little closer to the viewer or have it against the wall helps to find the best viewing distance, which is tricky with a big screen. If you're a neatnik, this also makes cleaning behind the panel easy. Overall I would give it a 5, but the balance of the TV could be better engineered, with some rachets or locking points to prevent the set from swinging one way or the other. The only controls provided are just tightening down screws, which don't handle the weight well unless it is perfectly balanced. In practice, you may want to avoid extending the TV all the way from the wall for that reason. When I do extend it, I hold it in place for a moment and then take my hands off, seeing if it is going swing back into the wall. I suspect minor adjustments may be needed for a while to get the balance just right.
