(More customer reviews)I bought this item as part of the bundle Amazon offered on the Asus Bamboo laptop. It was relatively easy to setup, but I have encountered nothing but problems since attempting to actually make it work.
I have updated the firmware and the drivers as specified by Netgear. However, everytime I connect the laptop to my television the WiDi application automatically resizes the display on my laptop. Annoying, but whatever. After that, the application goes on to lockup my laptop to the point of requiring a hard boot.
Netgear support has succeeded in repeating everything I say to them back twice to me, but that is it so far.
Conclusion: Product does not do what it is supposed to. From the looks of it (what with a firmware upgrade and "critical" driver updates right out of the box) this appears to be a half-baked, buggy offering. Wish I would have known before hand.

(More customer reviews)To start, I'm not really a computer expert, but my brother is, & we looked for a while to try & find a laptop w/the right amt. of inputs for my home entertainment needs, & this appears to be the one. For under $1000, you get a blu-ray drive, 3 USB ports, and an HDMI port, so for me, that's enough for streaming from the internet, hooking up to a new tv, taking advantage of all the new ways to enjoy tv/movies. If you can find a better deal for all of that, good luck, 'cause I looked for a while. Most laptops by other brands w/these specs are close to this price or more, & they don't even include a blu-ray drive. Some are even the same price for a 14" monitor. I was quite surprised that I went w/a Samsung, I normally don't think of them for laptops, I usually think of all of the other name brands, but this has been just fine, & Samsung overall is a quality product. It's quiet, relatively fast, light, & doesn't seem to overheat. Overall, very satisfied w/this laptop.

10ft Hi Resolution monitor cable (Male to Male) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to connect a laptop to my Samsung LN40A650 LCD TV, but the Samsung does not like the way the pins are wired in this cable. It is definitely the cable, because after trying 2 other laptops without success, I used another VGA cable that was previously on a desktop PC system. That one did the trick. With the 10ft cable I bought, the TV didn't recognize the PC input was connected. The VGA cable from the desktop PC worked, though I can only get up to 1300x768 resolution, not up to 1920x1080.
This 10ft cable still works, because it is now being used for the desktop PC instead. Just don't expect it to work with LN40A650. You may be taking a risk with any Samsung TV from 2008/9.
I also searched online about this problem, and it is a common. Apparently not all VGA cables are made the same way. This one just isn't made the way Samsung needs it to be. It will probably work with most other devices.
