(More customer reviews)I have PowerDVD 5, which is great. I only got PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D because 5 doesn't work well on Windows 7 and I wanted a PowerDVD version that supports Blu-ray playback. If you download the trial version you'll see all the interface problems this version has. Why should a $100 program have interface problems? Version 5 didn't and never cost this much. If you buy the full version of PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D you can download the patch which fixes most of the interface problems, but not all. I agree that there's toooooo much commercialism packed into this program. It can be very annoying. The True Theater Video gives the picture quality more detail and it plays Blu-ray but the 3D feature won't work on regular computer monitors. The True Theater Audio gives the sound more clarity and is a very nice addition to the program, but as far as I can tell, they haven't improved upon it enough to warrant the high price tag. I wouldn't have bought this if I hadn't been able to get it at a much lower price.
If you have Windows XP or Windows Vista, don't have a Blu-ray drive, and don't plan on upgrading to Windows 7, get PowerDVD 5. It's way better and way cheaper and no commercialism. PowerDVD has definitely gone down the hill since version 5. I like PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D but if you're gonna get a program this expensive, it has to be FANTASTIC, not just OK.

Sylvania LC320SLX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

(More customer reviews)I understand the good reviews for this TV on here now. If I had posted this review a week ago, I would have written good things as well. However, it is currently 8 months after I got this TV, and it started having a burning smell yesterday. Then, while I was watching TV today the Screen went black, and nothing but a high pitched whine came from the speakers.
After trying to find a fix for the problem online, I found that this model is notorious for this problem. It is extremely unreliable, and mine ended up lasting longer than most others have. The problem is costly to fix and will likely recur, so I strongly recommend finding a non-Sylvania brand TV to buy as this one is not only unusable after a short period of time, but a potential fire hazard from what I can tell from the smell it makes.

Samsung HL-S5086W 50-Inch DLP HDTV Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this TV for the last 2 months and it has been fantastic. Sure you could get the 1080P model instead, which I will admit does have better picture but you'd end up paying at least $500 more for it. Given the ever dropping prices of these kinds of TV's I'd rather save that money and use it in a few years to upgrade when I have the room for something bigger and better.
I had extensively compared this model to the Toshiba 50HM66 and in stores I will say the Toshiba did look a bit better. Don't let yourself be fooled though, for some reason Toshiba always seems to do the best job of making their TV's look good right out of the box while Samsungs require some adjustments to get the best picture. Once you do all of this they will look very similar in regards to picture quality.
In regards to the previous poster I will assume that he doesn't have the TV nor has done any research on it. This TV most definetly has a VGA input (although the competing Toshiba doesn't). Also you have been missinformed in regards to using HDMI to connect a computer. I have had a high end media center pc connected to my Samsung HL-S5086W using a DVI to HDMI cable and the picture is outstanding. Pretty much any computer with DVI out on the video card can be connected to this TV using a DVI to HDMI cable which can be picked up for ten dollars online, no other equipment needed.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would completly recommend this TV to anyone on the market for an HDTV on a budget.

This Samsung DLP television employs a Texas Instruments DLP chip that is comprised of millions of microscopic mirrors. The DLP chip is faster than any HDTV technology, with the mirrors switching on and off 15,000 times a second to deliver a razor-sharp picture for fast moving images. It also offers Samsung's Cinema Smooth 720p light engine, which creates an image with no visible pixel structure and accurate shading and better low-light detail for the most film-like picture. The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. The 3-line digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Samsung's Cinema Smooth 3:2 pull-down film mode corrects for the artificial frames created when films are converted to DVDs. The result is a clearer image without the subtle motion artifacts caused by 24-to-30 frames per second video conversion.
Samsung's 2.6-inch color wheel spins at 14,400 rpm for smooth, fast motion video, and has five color segments for more accurate colors. It achieves film-like transitions without pixel breakup found in slower color wheel designs and slower switching LCD microdisplays. Air Bearing technology also makes it whisper quiet.
Samsung also worked closely with Microsoft to create a special Game Mode that optimizes image quality, sound and response time for more realistic video game play--with just a single touch of a button. The Game Mode enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response and enhances the sounds of your games.

(More customer reviews)This device was perfect in every way. I had high hopes. Until I played back the video and heard a constant clicking sound that was impossible to ignore. For a memory based device, it is curious that there would be a mechanical noise on the audio track. It is a shame as the device is beautifully designed, easy to operate and captures nice quality images. Contacted Samsung and they would not say anything other than to return it for servicing. Very disappointing. I decided to go for a hybrid device instead and ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7. It's fantastic and takes good HD video as well as beautiful stills.

10ft Hi Resolution monitor cable (Male to Male) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to connect a laptop to my Samsung LN40A650 LCD TV, but the Samsung does not like the way the pins are wired in this cable. It is definitely the cable, because after trying 2 other laptops without success, I used another VGA cable that was previously on a desktop PC system. That one did the trick. With the 10ft cable I bought, the TV didn't recognize the PC input was connected. The VGA cable from the desktop PC worked, though I can only get up to 1300x768 resolution, not up to 1920x1080.
This 10ft cable still works, because it is now being used for the desktop PC instead. Just don't expect it to work with LN40A650. You may be taking a risk with any Samsung TV from 2008/9.
I also searched online about this problem, and it is a common. Apparently not all VGA cables are made the same way. This one just isn't made the way Samsung needs it to be. It will probably work with most other devices.

The combo player/recorder is an excellent example of a dying breed, is well crafted, and (I presume) performs to expectations. So why only 3 stars? Because no where in the description was the most important factor, that the V9800 is TUNERLESS. It must be used with another tuner source...like a set top box. Interestingly, I get cable from Time Warner through regular, in the wall, coax and all three of my HDTV's (Sony Bravia and 2 Sharps) have provisions for coax input. With separate DVD players and "traditional" VCR's this is no problem. Unfortunately I have not found any of the current combo players accepting of coax input for the VCR.
If you receive cable through a set top box this unit would be fine, and for under a $100 represents a nice value for the quality of build. My real gripe is with amazon for not being more diligent in spec'ing technical products that they sell. So 5 stars for Samsung and 0 stars for the amazonians!

Vizio 19" Class 720p 60Hz LED LCD HDTV (M190VA) Review

(More customer reviews)I own the 26" version of this TV (I also own a 47" Vizio) and I needed a small TV to use for a convention display table. The reason I purchased this one is that it is unique in that it has forward facing speakers. Most small TV's have downward facing speakers and in a large room they are much harder to hear. This TV is perfect, small, loud volume and has a great picture. I also like how Vizio packs their small TV's because they are easy to re-pack and the box can be used many times. The base plate also comes off easy.
Highly recommend.
