(More customer reviews)I have PowerDVD 5, which is great. I only got PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D because 5 doesn't work well on Windows 7 and I wanted a PowerDVD version that supports Blu-ray playback. If you download the trial version you'll see all the interface problems this version has. Why should a $100 program have interface problems? Version 5 didn't and never cost this much. If you buy the full version of PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D you can download the patch which fixes most of the interface problems, but not all. I agree that there's toooooo much commercialism packed into this program. It can be very annoying. The True Theater Video gives the picture quality more detail and it plays Blu-ray but the 3D feature won't work on regular computer monitors. The True Theater Audio gives the sound more clarity and is a very nice addition to the program, but as far as I can tell, they haven't improved upon it enough to warrant the high price tag. I wouldn't have bought this if I hadn't been able to get it at a much lower price.
If you have Windows XP or Windows Vista, don't have a Blu-ray drive, and don't plan on upgrading to Windows 7, get PowerDVD 5. It's way better and way cheaper and no commercialism. PowerDVD has definitely gone down the hill since version 5. I like PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D but if you're gonna get a program this expensive, it has to be FANTASTIC, not just OK.

Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit (Avatar 3D + 2 Rechargeable Glasses) Review

(More customer reviews)It's hard to find a video product where Panasonic lags the competition. They continue to make some of the best video equipment on the market, and always seem to be the best value as well. That said, Panasonic needs some design help with their 3D glasses. Specifically with the ergonomics. If your TV is mounted high on the wall, (40" or higher from the floor to the base of the TV), you probably won't have a problem when seated in a reclined position. Anything lower, and you'll wish you had an adjustable nose piece.
The (2) active 3D glasses are rechargable via USB, and one charge should get you through a multi-movie marathon. They also shut off automatically if left on without a signal from the TV, which is nice. The side to side viewing angle is very good, but up and down is limited. I find myself adjusting my head and body position often, to accomodate the thin viewing plane...and that's a real pain.
The 3D glasses are designed so you can wear you perscription eyeglasses, which is great, and the active shutter technology works very well with the 50" Viera 3D HDTV. (Again- mount the TV high on the wall if you recline or lay on the couch to watch movies.)
We purchased the Viera 3D DVD player, 50" Viera 3D Plasma and the Avatar kit with (2) pair of active 3D glasses. Avatar is spectacular in 3D by the way. We have a Denon/Onkyo 5.1 (500 watt) surround system, which adds a lot to the experience. TIP: HDMI cables are not included, and you don't want to go cheap with your HDMI cables, despite what others may say.
Overall, the 3D glasses work well, but the lack of an adjustable nose piece is problematic. Avatar is essentially a freebe with the kit.
