This is our fourth HD big screen. We have a Panny 37" circa 2005 and two new 2010 Sony 46" Bravia w motion control. We picked up this set for a second home in Florida.
Pros: Excellent picture at 480, 720, 1080 w Comcast. Lots of brightness in a sunny room. Although it has a gloss screen, reflections don't seem to be the problem I was expecting. Very thin profile. Simple menus and sets up easy. Three HDMI inputs are a plus. Swivel is nice. TV allows viewing from very steep side angles, best of all our sets. The blacks are VERY black, also the best of all our sets. The price is AMAZING at Costco! Audio is great for me at 10 feet and I have hearing issues.
Cons: Haven't found any yet although I have not used it for on line games, a game box, bluray or SD card. My standard DVD movie looked great.
I am sitting here watching college football in HD. There are no compression problems. The ball spirals are perfect and the receiver routes in slow mo and full speed are clear wo rasterization problems. My 2005 Panny stinks at this so I do know what really bad technology and pictures are like.
CATS is the auto brightness control that you can set in the picture menu. It works great if you adjust the brightness and color settings in a darker room first. Then during brighter daytime settings the picture will be great. The other way will leave you disappointed or frustrated but there is no need to turn CATS off.
Another nice feature is the auto selection of the picture mode and screen fill. Works great for us. If there was a way to grade this a five star ++, we would. A great value buy!!

3d Glasses (Four) and Emitter for 3d Ready DLP Tv's or Pc with Nvidia Quadro Card Review

Average Reviews:

My Mitsubishi DLP HDTV came "3D Ready" but prices were astronomical. Mitsubishi wants $400 for two pairs of glasses and the emitter. They also give you a box that allows you to connect to a non "checkerboard" compatible 3D source. I bought a Panasonic 3D Blu-ray player that has native support, so all I needed were glasses. Along comes the crowning touch to my 3D setup.. THESE GLASSES! I had a question at 10pm and they called me the next morning and stayed on the line to make sure I was fully satisfied with my answers. The glasses came packed well, in a generic brown box with peanuts and bags. The glasses don't have flashy colors or logos on them, and like all 3D glasses look silly on, but work GREAT!
Cons? Ok, two. I have a 60" TV because the room is big enough to "need" one. The included emitter is better than the base one they sell, but not quite strong enough to make the 15 feet to my favorite seating position. My solution was to tuck the emitter's base into one of my suspended ceiling tiles about 3 feet in front of the TV. The other problem I had was with my remote. The emitter constantly sends a sync signal to the glasses and makes my remote useless. Since I doubt I'll be doing much remote mashing while viewing a 3D movie, the solution is to take the emitter out of the ceiling tiles when not in use.
For the price, you can't do any better, not even for double the price. Next up... nVidia Quadra card for my computer for 3D gaming!

Ok this is to inform you that we have done extensive testing on this product. Yes it is able to display 2 pictures to 2 different screens at the same time without any issue. Now what is the issue is that this unit CLAIMS to display a 3D Picture which it does not. We have tried connected this device and splited the connection from our Playstation 3 which with our old splitter did the job just fine splitting the 3D Picture. However with this unit the Playstation can not even detect the 3D Display. We have tried numerous different configurations even a configuration where we connected an HDMI 1.4A Amazon Basics with Ethernet and 3D support to the device and it STILL DID NOT WORK. After of hours of trying to get this unit to display 3D it just didn't do the job. We tried the unit on 4 different TVs here [3 of them being 3D] with not only the PS3 but also the LG 3D Bluray player with no luck. We have come to the conclusion that this device is claiming something it can not perform and are warning you if you read this review and are thinking of purchasing it to steer clear. Look elsewhere for a unit that will split a 3D signal. The worst part about all of this is that it claims "The Newest and the Best" which it totally is not. Funny thing is a splitter we purchased over 6 months ago can do the job but we were hopping to get something better which unfortunately this can't nearly even do the job. To make a long story short; STAY AWAY FROM THIS ITEM. PATHETIC FALSE ADVERTISING!

This screen shield is assume - better than I expected !! It fits our TV so well. Highly recommend the product.
I bought it after my son and my nephew broke my husband's brother TV and we didn't want to take any risks. Picture is excellent and the shield doesn't take way from the looks of our TV.
We have 46" Samsung in the living room and the screen protector was easy to take down when I gave it a wipe last week.

I got these glasses and have a Mits 73 inch TV. While these work great if you 4 feet from the TV once you go back up 10+ feet you will get alot of flicker they go in and out of 3D model..
I then purchased the Optuma pair for $30 less...they worked perfectly...flawless...with minimal to no flicker.

Acer® H5360 3D-DLP Projector Review

Ok, when I purchased this 720p/1080i projector, I had fully researched the item to be sure it would output Blu ray 3D and video gaming in 3D on a large 120" screen. It was a worthwhile investment. This projector, coupled with the Nvidia emitter/glasses, computer with a blu ray player and the right graphics card (check Nvidia website) and the right software- Arcsoft's Totalmedia, I now have near cinema sized 3D experiences at home- it does sound like a lot, but in the long run I spent less then 1/2 then I would have had I purchased the Panasonic, Sony or Samsung 3d tvs that are 1/2 the size of my screen. There is absolutely no ghosting, and all of the 3D Blu rays I have watched are amazing, Monsters vs Aliens, Coraline, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Grand Canyon Adventure and Ice Age 3. I am hoping the 3D Blu ray releases will pick up and there will be many more choices available.. In the meantime, Nvidia has 400 PC games that can be played in 3D- Left for Dead 2 , Batman Arkham Asylum, etc (check ther site for more game titles). The immersive experience of 3D with this projector is unparalleled; at least until a 1080p 3D projector with a reasonable price comes out.

I recently experienced a household loss of our family's 50 inch HDTV we have used for the past 5 years. Our LG 50PX4DR-H was struck by lighting and was put to rest. I paid a hefty price for the LG back 5 years ago and wanted the best features and viewing experience I could get for a reasonable price. Before that, we had the Toshiba widescreen TW20F40 which was a great TV for it's time. My latest quest lead me to the Panasonic TC-P65VT25 which had the best viewing performance I could find. I reviewed the latest high-end models with LCD, LED and Plasma technology from Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, LG, Vizo and Hitachi, nothing but the plasmas were able to effectively display high speed motion without blurring. All has the latest features with widgets and some had a better implementation than others. Many had better physical dimensions with thin panels and beautiful frames, but I typically do not view content on TVs from the side or outside of the viewing area. I chose the Panasonic TC-P65VT25 for it's ability to display vibrant images and effective implementation of web-based accessible content... I was not concern with the 3D functionality, since I have a defect in my right eye which limits my site to peripheral vision. I did not expect that I could enjoy the technology since shutter glasses require viewing the content with both eyes where two images are displayed, one for the right and one for the left. As it turns out and to my surprise, I am able to enjoy the 3D content, just not as well as my family....
Well, the whole intent to submit my review is that the Panasonic TC-P65VT25 was priced to be close to $5K, but went to one of the local electronics retailers who worked a deal with I got it for $2.6K which was a good deal. I had to wait a week, since these TVs were selling like crazy. If you want the best viewing experience with quality design, you can not go wrong with the Panasonic. It's a great HDTV and with a viewing area of 65 inches, your engulfed in a viewing experience that is so close to theater viewing as it comes, but from a much improved visual perspective. Check it out for yourself and you'll see....

LG LHB975 1100-Watt Blu-ray Home Theater System, Gloss Black Review

LG LHB975 1100-Watt Blu-ray Home Theater System, Gloss Black
Average Reviews:

We got this system yesterday after waiting about six weeks. We had found it when searching the LG site, and while it was "released", the LG rep I emailed said that it was just taking time for the distributors to get it to retailers. LG service was prompt and VERY helpful!
When it was finally available on Amazon, my wife and I jumped on it and had it over nighted. (BTW: Amazon Prime rocks!).
This system was everything we wanted. It was easy to put together, and the NetFlix, You Tube, and the Pandora radio were simple to get going.
The picture and sound quality were excellent and we were thrilled with every feature except one.
The rear speakers are NOT exactly wireless.
We had envisioned that three front three (right, left, and center) would plug into the blu ray receiver, and the subwoofer and rear speakers would be completely wireless.
What we found was that the system comes with a box (about the size and weight of a Wii) called the "Wireless Speaker Router". This box can be placed anywhere in a room, as long as it has access to an electrical outlet. The box DOES wirelessly connect to the receiver AND wirelessly connect to the subwoofer.
HOWEVER, the two rear speakers have to be connected via speaker wire to this device.
We have put the wireless router in the back of our living room, thus significantly reducing the amount of wire needed for each rear speaker. If we has had to wire these rear speakers directly to the blu ray receiver, it would have taken a lot more wire. But make no mistake, the rear speakers are wired. You will have figure out how to hide the wires along open walls and across doorways. We had hoped for complete wireless.
The wireless router has pretty good range from what we've seen. It doesn't have to have an unobstructed line of site to the receiver/subwoofer or anything. So I suppose you could take it and the two speakers to another room and enjoy the internet radio or the ipod dock or the built in AM/FM radio or any other audio signal. The router and speakers are small enough to be quite portable.
So all in all, this is a five star system. Just not with completely wireless speakers.

I was hoping as this is HDMI 1.4 that it would pass-through the 3D signal for my Samsung TV and Bluray... Unfortunately, no... it doesn't. I had to run the HDMI to the TV direct and then pass an optical from the TV return to get surround sound and keep my 3D working... Overall sound is pretty good and I enjoy it...I just am disappointed it did not pass through the 3D signal..

Fujifilm HDP-L1 HD Player and Remote Review

Fujifilm HDP-L1 HD Player and Remote
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
being owner of a finepix real 3D w1 camera and v1 picture frame and a samsung le46c750 3D tv i would have liked to watch my photos taken with the 3D camera on the 3D tv. quite obvious, one might think. but it doesn't work. samsung doesn't support fuji's native mpo file format for stereoscopic images, and even the side-by-side format can't be switched to 3d in terms of pictures, whereas with (converted) videos from the same camera this works.
so as the finepix hdp-l1 was announced to be able to play the 3D photos on a 3D capable tv via hdmi, i thought, this might be a handy solution. ok, it works. but one might expect it to work a bit different, maybe:
1. it only supports 720p, which still looks good, but as the photos have much a higher resolution (2x 10 megapixels), i would prefer downscaling to 1080p to get the best out of it. it seems that hdmi 1.3 doesn't support the higher 3D resolution, and so doesn't the item. and i'm not sure, if it even is a native 3D format taht runs across the hdmi, as switching to 3D just presents a side-by-side image, which then on the tv can accordingly be translated to 3D in the 3D settings. actually there is a 3D protocol for real 3D and i'm quite sure the tv should recognize this automatically, if it really were the right format.
2. there are no menues available when 3D mode is switched on.
3. there is no sort of file-browser available.
4. 3D fotos cannot be shown in 2D (and you don't even see that they're there in 2D mode), whereas 3D films can (???)
5. there are NO slideshow options: you can't choose different time-spans for the pictures to be shown, and there's NO transitions offered. i don't need those fluffy transitions with all kinds of sliding and rolling effects. i just want one image to softly fade out and the next one to fade in. or the first fading to black, and the second fading in from black again. pictures only show one after the other.
6. you can't even switch off the annoying beep, except by muting the tv
7. the device refuses to read 16gb sdhc cards
most of those issues could be solved easily by providing some sensible software (firmware) for a piece of hardware, that obviously could do all the tricks.
i really wonder why companies do this. same with the samsung tv, although there's not that much missing.
open your code to at least let enthusiasts do the job you should do! there' a bunch of people out there who would be most eager to develop really cute functions for the devices you build. (as there have been firmware hacks for previous samsung models, it seems. but they just secured their code better to prevent intervention instead of opening it up)
it's so frustrating to have a piece of hardware that you know is capable of doing so many cute things, but it just won't, because some programming departments refuse to do their job properly (or are on too tight a budget).
pleeeaaase!!!

I just purchased the LG 47LX9500 and it is amazing, I have yet to see the 3D, but I did get a glimpse out in Europe with a video game and it was amazing.... So I can't wait to see how it looks. The design is flawless and really heavy with a glass protecting the screen. I hooked up my PS3 and played AVATAR bluray and I was blown away (can't wait for the 3D version). I also hooked up my XBOX 360 and it is more than I could ever imagine. I know I'll have this TV for a long time. The price I got for was the kicker, originaly retailed at $3500 I got it at Fry's electronics for a mere $1250 (+tax and 3 year warranty)
NOT BAD DEAL AT ALL.
I would recommend that you wait for the retail price to drop to get this TV from LG. Make sure you get the correct HDMI cable that goes with it as well, and if you are into great sound shop for a good receiver that you can get your speakers pluged into.

Average Reviews:

I've owned this 58VT25 for a few weeks now. HDTV broadcasts and Blu-ray video are just amazing, not to mention the very excellent 3D seen from Direct TV broadcasts. And by the way .. There are no grayish backgrounds where one would expect black. On this TV, blacks are BLACK. Also, on mine, there isn't any, "buzz" (someone here reported hearing a buzz) or any sound other than program content regardless of how close I get to the TV. If there was, I would call Panasonic's repair service.
One thing I learned early on is, don't mess with the color adjustments on this TV right off the bat; wait a few days for the TV to stabilize then adjust if you feel the need. The color realism on this TV is extraordinary. Being typically an early adapter, I've owned a few other plasma TVs. My gripe with my earlier Panasonics is .. I could never get the reds quite right (leaned toward crimson), and there always seemed to be just the slightest greenish hew. Yes .. I'm picky .. kind of a perfectionist I guess.
The reason for my having owned several TVs over the recent past is because those before never seemed quite right. This one though is a keeper. If there's any gripe at all it's with watching non-HDTV broadcasts. They look great, but I think they looked even better on the TV I replaced this one with. But broadcasters are all switching over to HD so that little complaint will never cause me to continue in my early adapter ways. This one, I'm sure, will stay in my house until one of us passes away (I'm a few years into retirement).
And by the way, I will edit this review if any negatives become apparent on this TV over time.

Panasonic TY-EW3D2MU 3D Active Shutter Eyewear for Panasonic 3D HDTVs - Medium Review

Panasonic TY-EW3D2MU 3D Active Shutter Eyewear for Panasonic 3D HDTVs - Medium
Average Reviews:

First, I will preface this review by saying that I have only used these glasses for a total of appx. 30 minutes, and so I may modify my rating next week to 4 stars, but I highly doubt that (I plan to watch about 5 3D Blu-Rays from start to finish using my new glasses while on vacation!).
A few things, the weekend before these arrived, I was at home and I went to watch Ice Age 3 3D and as I pulled out my 3D Panasonic Gen 1 glasses the first 2 of 3 pairs were dead!!!!! No 'auto off' feature, and I have no idea if I forgot to turn them off or more likely bumped the power switch while folding them up etc. and putting them into their protective boxes! Thankfully my 3rd pair still had a working battery.
So, improvement #1 - when these new Gen 2 Glasses are 'on' there is a steady blinking pulse from the LED. Improvement #2 - the power is no longer a button to be pressed but a 'switch'.
Next, once they arrived, since I did have one pair of the Gen 1's that still had a working battery I decided to watch appx. 20-30 minutes of Ice Age 3 3D with the old glasses first just to refresh my memory of all the things I 'disliked' about the old glasses - don't fit snug, light seeps in from the sides, none of the nose pieces fit properly, to easy to accidentally turn on when putting away or whatnot. Most especially though, they feel like they are going to fall off my face and when I lay sideways on the couch if I rest my head against a pillow it 'pushes' them off so I have to sit in awkward positions to watch my 3D content.
The new glasses were a god send- they fit perfectly (I used my snowboarding helmet size and measured my head to be certain I was a size medium), they are snug without pinching or hurting anywhere. I felt like I could power them off, walk in the kitchen, get a drink, come back, power them back on and pick up where I left off!
More importantly I can now lay or sit in any position I want without worry that my glasses will be falling off my face! Also, the sides no longer have those huge gaps in them!!
Icing on the cake, as mentioned above - on/off 'switch', flashing LED for on/off status, AND a USB charging cable (why all of this was not done in the Gen 1 glasses I have no idea, but after spending around $3,000+ on my 3D setup it was WELL worth the extra money for me to grab a set of these glasses).
I'll update my review after I spend more time with them but I couldn't figure out why there were no reviews when these have been out since October so I took a chance and ordered them and wanted to help if there were others still on the fence about getting these.
Be sure to get the right size though as the nose piece is not interchangeable (which I actually prefer).
Happy (3D) Viewing!!!

Mitsubishi 3DA-1 3D Adapter Pack Review

Mitsubishi 3DA-1 3D Adapter Pack

I bought this adapter on Amazon for use with my Mitsubishi WD-73736 TV, Direct TV satelitte receiver, and xpand DLP link X102 glasses. To view Direct TV 3D channels, you need an HD receiver model H21 or higher. Model H20 will not work, as it will not get the software update necessary to view 3D programming. The physical size of the adapter is about 5"x4"x1". It can sit horizontally or vertically with the included stand. It is supplied with an HDMI cable, AC adapter power supply, emitter VESA cable, and a two button infrared remote control with battery. There are detailed instructions for the hook up of the adapter, TV, and the video output device (in my case a Direct TV H21 receiver). Basically, you plug in the AC adapter and plug it into the back of the adapter. If using non DLP link shutter glasses, you will need to plug in the supplied emitter cables from the adapter to the TV, and the non supplied VESA cable that comes with your shutter glasses from the adapter to your emitter. Next hook up the supplied HDMI cable from the adapter directly to an HDMI input on your TV. The last step is to hook up a non supplied HDMI cable (CAT 2 high speed V1.3 will do), from the adapter to your video source (in my case a Direct TV H21 receiver). I tuned to one of the Direct TV 3D channels 103,104,106 and I kept getting a message on my Direct TV receiver that my TV was not 3D ready. Finally in frustration, I changed the cable that runs from the 3DA-1 adapter to my TV from the HDMI 1 input to HDMI 2. The TV auto detected this change, and I named the input "satelitte". The Direct TV receiver finally recognized my TV as one of the elite allowed 3D models and I started to receive the 3D signals. I was then able to switch back to HDMI 1 input on my TV with no problems. There must be some sort of handshake signal that was initiated by the TV's auto detect of the incomming signal on HDMI 2 input. Once I was allowed access to the Direct TV 3D signal, I tried connecting the 3DA-1 adapters output signal through my Sony AV receiver (which has a version 1.3 HDMI switch) to my TV. It did not work, and I again received that dreaded message that my TV was not 3D ready. Save yourself some grief and if using this adapter to view Direct TV, use only direct HDMI cable connections between the Direct TV receiver and the adapter and the TV and the adapter, otherwise, you will not get the 3d signal. Once properly connected, the 3DA-1adapter works great and will auto detect 2D and 3D signals and automatically adjust its output accordingly. There is a slight (about 5 to 10 second) time lag when switching between 2D and 3D signals. The adapter has two green lights on it's front panel, one for power on and one for 3D mode. The power on light is self explanatory, and the 3D light comes on whenever a 3D video input signal is detected. The included remote control comes with a supplied battery and two buttons (power and 3D mode). The power button turns the adapter on and off, it must be turned on to view 2D or 3D signals. The other button turns 3D mode on and off. If viewing 3D, the adapter will automatically sense 3D and light the 3D light on the adapter. Remember to use the TV's setup menu to enable the "3D mode" and select "reverse" if using xpand 3D DLP link glasses. The 3D button on the remote seemed to have no effect once a 3D signal was auto detected by the adapter. Kudos to Mitsubishi for making this product available for Mitsubishi DLP owners. The 3D looks fantastic, as good as any theater! If you are in the market for a 3D blue ray player, I highly recommend the Panasonic BDT350. It has a selectable 3D output mode for the checkerboard 3D output format that is required by the Mitsubishi and Samsung 3D ready DLP TV's, no adapter is required and it even works through a V1.3 HDMI switcher. I give the 3DA-1 adapter a 4 star rating instead of 5, because getting it to work with Direct TV was a pain, and it would be nice to have an automatic on/ off feature with the detection of an input video signal.

I have a Panasonic 3D and wear normal glasses , the Panny's never seemed to fit comfortably for my tastes... These feel great , secure on my face , they seem lighter on my nose than the panny's. Wearing glasses inside these felt great because they go snug around your head. You do have to set the glasses for your tv model , for some reason I thought it would automatically do it so that was a little bummer... you have to hold down the power and cycle the button until it matches your brand... it will remember it the next time so no big deal but if you do bring them to someone else's house you will have to remember how to do this or explain it to someone who is using them. My local theater is not xpand so I cannot try the cinema part but thats another setting too! so dont lose those instructions... So if your looking to buy a second or third 3d glasses for your rig consider these for its transportability and at least a change of pace from the glasses that your tv brand forces on you.
added 11/9/10 : Just played hours of Call of Duty black ops in 3D and it looked great!

Panasonic TY-EW3D10MK1 3D Starter Kit Review

I am awed at how the price of this product goes up and down, worse than a see-saw. It's still on the expensive side, considering you must buy glasses in addition to the expensive 3D TV.
Hoever, this box set is cheaper than buying 2 pair of glasses seperately, and you get the 2 movies to boot.
I really have no complaints as to the fit and feel of the glasses. Some have complained that they are uncomfortable, I don't find that they are. But then again, I don't exactly have a petite nose. I use them as they were packaged, I did not use the nose pieces.
My only gripe with the glassess is the limited range - perhaps it's the TV (Panasonic TC-P42GT25 42-Inch), but I cannot lie down while wearing the glasses, nor lower my head too much as it loses the signal and the glasses shut off. For this reason, I deduct 1 star.
The included movies were an excellent choice. I have the Blu Ray of Coraline 3D in anaglyph format, and I thought it looked pretty good, although somewhat muted. The Bluray 3D looks excellent. I haven't yet watched Ice Age 3, but will very soon.
I think I heard (or read) somewhere that they will be including Avatar as an add in in a future version of this set. I'll get it anyway though, if I sign up after December 1st.
Overall, the set was worth every penny, since I got the bundle deal and didn't pay for it :) I'm mostly satisfied with thie set.
