(More customer reviews)This is our fourth HD big screen. We have a Panny 37" circa 2005 and two new 2010 Sony 46" Bravia w motion control. We picked up this set for a second home in Florida.
Pros: Excellent picture at 480, 720, 1080 w Comcast. Lots of brightness in a sunny room. Although it has a gloss screen, reflections don't seem to be the problem I was expecting. Very thin profile. Simple menus and sets up easy. Three HDMI inputs are a plus. Swivel is nice. TV allows viewing from very steep side angles, best of all our sets. The blacks are VERY black, also the best of all our sets. The price is AMAZING at Costco! Audio is great for me at 10 feet and I have hearing issues.
Cons: Haven't found any yet although I have not used it for on line games, a game box, bluray or SD card. My standard DVD movie looked great.
I am sitting here watching college football in HD. There are no compression problems. The ball spirals are perfect and the receiver routes in slow mo and full speed are clear wo rasterization problems. My 2005 Panny stinks at this so I do know what really bad technology and pictures are like.
CATS is the auto brightness control that you can set in the picture menu. It works great if you adjust the brightness and color settings in a darker room first. Then during brighter daytime settings the picture will be great. The other way will leave you disappointed or frustrated but there is no need to turn CATS off.
Another nice feature is the auto selection of the picture mode and screen fill. Works great for us. If there was a way to grade this a five star ++, we would. A great value buy!!

(More customer reviews)This TV has an amazingly beautiful picture, with deep darks and bright colors, and good saturation even in soft, light colors that might get washed out on other TVs. Scenic panoramas are so realistic! One reviewer said they thought the picture was too dark overall, but I can't understand why, unless it's being watched in a very bright room. My experience is that we had to turn the LED backlight down a lot to make it dim enough and save our retinas. We're very impressed with the picture quality and the sound is even impressive for a TV, but we still hooked it up to the stereo system, because of course that's better. But we were impressed with the audio quality as far as TV speakers go.
There was an issue with 1 of the 4 HDMI ports not working, however LG said for any TV over 30", they will send a technician to your home to repair any issue not caused by customer abuse, and this would be covered, but since we only really need 2 inputs, it's a tolerable defect. One other small complaint is that the HDMI ports have a loose fit, however, in three weeks, we only had to tighten once and they're holding steady. The ports are just around behind the screen, easily accessible without going behind the TV, so it's no problem. These issues are minor, and I would still choose this TV over others for it's great picture quality! I'm very happy we bought it, and at such a great price. And for LG's fabulous customer support, 5 stars.
The seller was great (Video & Audio Center) and shipped it same day for free. It arrived in just a couple days.

(More customer reviews)This TV was on my short list as soon as it was announced. It's a beautiful glossy black TV, with a subtle infused blue around the edges. The blue is only really visible in certain light, otherwise it just looks glossy black, but the TV looks beautiful either way. I don't care much for the "mole" that sticks down on the bottom left of the TV as I'm a fan of symmetry, however this is still a gorgeous TV.
The LH90 series is LG's flagship LCD this year featuring backlit "local dimming" LED's, and in my IMO it's one of the best buys on the market. Local Dimming allows for deeper blacks, that rival good plasmas, and easily beat normal non LED LCD's. The picture on the this TV is fantastic. Beginning last year and continuing this year, LG offers more picture/color adjustments then any other manufacturer. Colors are great out of the box, and your video modes include Standard, Natural, THX Cinema, Sport, Game or Vivid. In addition there are two Expert modes where you can create and save the exact picture you want. Also there is an intelligent sensor mode that automatically adjusts the picture for you based on the ambient light in the room. The OSD menus are color and icon driven and very easy to use. They are much better then what is offered by most other manufacturers. The OSD menus and pictures adjustments is one area where LG trumps all other manufacturers. I would rate Samsung second in this regard.
Connections are good and notably feature 4 HDMI ports and a USB port. You can plug in your flash drive to the USB port, and leave it there if you want. I have yet to be able to get my videos to play from the flash drive, and that is the only knock I have against the TV. Pictures and MP3s worked fine.
Sound is also pretty good, and while it won't compete with a sound system, its certainly more then adequate. Sound modes include Standard, Sport, Music, Cinema, and Game.
Standard Definition viewing is pretty good. Video processing for SD is another area where LG typically outdoes other manufacturers. Samsung also typically does a good job here. Some manufacturers though tend to offer poor to mediocre video processing which can leave your picture looking mediocre to downright bad on SD channels. Most people still watch a lot of SD programming so this is an important consideration when getting a new HDTV that shouldn't be overlooked.
This model features a swivel stand like most LG models, and I'm surprised that most other manufacturers, (with the exception of Samsung) don't have swivel stands on most of their models. A few Hitachi models offer motorized swivel stands that can be controlled from your remote, which is a very nice feature.
There are raised buttons on the left side of the TV, for things like channels, volume and power. The remote is quite good with this TV and one of the best I've seen. It is well weighted, has large buttons with good tactile feel, and in general is well layed out. There is a back light button on the remote that lights most of the buttons for about 5 seconds.
I run my coaxial cable directly to the TV, and the tuner works well. The TV takes about 5 seconds to turn on.
Best of all I scored the 47in on sale, and couldn't pass it up. Size wise you can also opt for the 42LH90 or the 55LH90.
This is a great TV, but there are some other sets you may want to consider depending on your preferences. Last year's 47LG90 is still available for about 3-400 less then the 47LH90. The 47LG90 was LG's first TV to feature LED local dimming. The biggest difference is the styling of the cabinet, although I prefer the LH's styling, I liked last year's as well. The only other major difference is the bump from 120hz refresh rate to 240hz, and quite honestly it's not really noticeable in normal programming. Blooming is the only downside to local dimming Tv's, however on this set, its subtle and I only noticed it when the screen is black and was rolling credits.
Toshiba is offering the 46SV670 and 55Sv670 which also feature LED local dimming. They are competitively priced and also beautiful TV's featuring some subtle gray around the edges. The Toshiba sets however lack a swivel stand, and also lack the great OSD menu controls and adjustments of the LG. The Toshibas have something called SRT+, which purports to improve the SD picture, but there are mixed reviews as to how well this works. The Toshibas do feature a true 10bit panel, and are one of the few models on the market to do so.
Another choice soon to be offered is the Vizio VF551XVT which will offer have LED local dimming and be offered at a price similar to 47LH90 or less.
Samsung is also supposed to offer its 9000 series featuring local dimming, however those sets will likely cost a lot more. I'd advise to stay away from the Samsung 6000, 7000 & 8000 series which feature edge lit LEDs. The edge lit system is inferior and doesn't allow for the local dimming that gives you the deep blacks. Worse, the edge lit system is said to cause screen uniformity issues. The Edge lit TV's only upside is that they are very thin, (if you care about that), however you also lose side TV controls and side connections.
You can also consider a regular LCD or a plasma. In fact LG's high end 50PS80 plasma can be had for about 3-400 less. You are getting more screen, great motion resolution, wide viewing angles and the deep blacks plasma offers, all for less. Also that model offers an ethernet connection for things like Netflix and Youtube, which is one of the only features lacking in the LH90 series.
Now that Pioneer has left the market, high end Panasonic plasmas, are said to offer the deepest blacks, however IMO Panasonic does a mediocre to poor job with SD video processing, which I watch a lot of.
UPDATE 9/5/2009- I have yet to be able to play videos of any format from my flash drive using the USB port. Despite menus indicating it will play videos, the feature either doesn't work as advertised or is extremely limited in function. Pictures and mp3s still work fine. I am having the same problem with the LG 390 blue ray player.
The LH90 series has a matte screen which helps prevent reflections off the screen. It works well, however my TV is in a dimly lit bedroom and in hindsite I might have actually preferred the glossy clear screen of the similarly priced Toshiba 46SV670. Glossy screens reflect more light but they also preserve deeper black levels and colors. I would have loved to have compared these two TV's side by side.
That said, HD channels look excellent and SD channels are very good. The TV's seamless tuner works quite well, but channel surfing is a little slower then I'd like. The tuners on my old DVD and VHS players, would take about .5 secs to change a channel versus about 1.5 secs with the LH90 tuner. Still perfectly acceptable though.
If you are budgeting, I would recommend getting the biggest screen you can afford. The 47in size is a good fit for my bedroom, but if I had it to do it over again I might have sprung for the 55LH90 and scrapped buying separate speakers and a receiver. The speakers on the this TV are good enough and I think I would have appreciated more screen a lot more then slightly better sound. If you have budget constraints, you should also consider that you might be better served getting a 55in regular Samsung or LG LCD TV for the same price or less then the 47LH90. You might appreciate the extra screen more then the marginally better picture.

Secondly, there are no voice issues if you use the right kind of hdmi cable...get the brand new updated version and you won't have
any problems. Third, do yourself a favor and buy the new ps3 to play your movies on..even if you don't need a game system.
It has wireless networking, it's down to 299 and it will display all your photos and music on your tv, it's like having a 120
gig hard drive hooked up to your tv with blueray capability. I have been looking for a year for the right tv and i knew this
was it. The picture is fully backlit, instead of edgelit like the Samsung, that makes a big difference in the details. The
other thing is that the picture is absolutely stunning. The LED technology will save you money over plasmas and last longer...
approximately 7-15 years longer. It doesn't run as hot as plasmas, the electricity cost you a lot less, there's no fear of burn in,
the picture is unbelievable and there's several places to use it as a computer monitor. Pertaining to other people's comments
about the power light, it actually blends into the background when you're watching tv or a movie, it's not bothersome at all, but
in the case that it does bother you really bad, hey, just get a sharpie, lol. Some of you reading this are wondering what tv to
buy. If you do your research, consumer reports, cnet and all those, they will tell you this is one of the best in the 55" category.
The contrast ratio is 2,000,000 to 1, the automotion ms response time is 4 or less because of the 240 hz, not as fast as a plasma but how many people were complaining when there lcd's were just 120 hz...no one was. Anyway, good luck with your decision but at the end
of the day if you buy this tv, you'll be happy.

Sony BRAVIA KDL40EX600 40-Inch 1080p LED HDTV, Black Review

(More customer reviews)This TV is the oddball for Sony (so it seems). Most people buying a "40 inch-er" or larger are lured to a 120 hz model (like EX-500 or EX-700). The EX-600 has a 60 hz scan. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks; you won't notice the difference for moving objects. It doesn't have internet features or DNLA capable but I'm planning on hooking up a spare Mac Mini over an HDMI port for a straight shot to the internet.
Best I can tell, the EX-600 is roughly equal to the Sony Google TV without the Google part, but $200 less and in a more attractive slim black body.
I did a lot of research before buying as my last TV was a gigantic 200 lb. 35" Sony XBR tube TV. The EX-600 is a pretty fine machine.
I'm quite pleased with the picture and adjustments. At first it seemed too much bubble-gum colors and bright but after making adjustments in the settings menu, I toned things down and also adjusted the backlighting and this machine delivers beautiful realistic colors and black blacks. Absolutely no light bleed from the LED edge lighting.
I bought mine local since it was cheaper (with tax) than anywhere else, including on-line. Like i noted earlier, this 40" model appears to be not selling too well.
Pick one up before they are gone. It's definitely a winner.

(More customer reviews)The dirty little secret when buying consumer electronics is to not buy them when they first come out, because there are bound to be bugs and defects among the first units manufactured. The manufacture is bound to discover these problems, make the necessary correction(s), and the subsequent lots should not have the same issues. This Vizio model is no exception.

I too have had the audio problem, where the audio distorts after a set amount of time. When I went to exchange it, I made sure the replacement was from a different lot than the first, that way I am bound to get a unit that shouldn't have the same problems as what I had before. My new unit works perfectly. For reference my first unit was made on 11/09 and my new unit was made 02/10.

Vizio has also made several firmware updates between the two sets I tried out. The first TV had version 2.06 and the second 2.13. I have no idea what improvements were made, but it could relate to the audio problem.

What I like about this TV is that since it has a glass panel, the image resembles what a HD CRT would produce. It really smooths out the picture and gives a better image quality that a matte finished LCD panel can't deliver. A typical LCD TV can produce a sharp picture, but at the same time it looks a little hazy to me. You certainly can't get a glossy panel for a TV of that size anywhere that I know of. If you like the look that a CRT TV or a plasma gives you will probably like this TV. I am also surprised that Vizio was able to deliver a LED TV at this price point.

I also really like the styling of this TV. It has the appearance of a high-end TV, something like what Bang & Olafson would produce. An the fancy touch panel controls are a nice touch. I would like to purchase a 27" or 32" of this same style of set, but unfortunately Vizio only makes this style in in 19" & 23".

The sound, if you get a properly working unit, is quite good. It looks to me Vizio put a smaller version of their HD sound bar into this set, because the SRS Surround technology really expands the sound coming from the TV. I didn't find the sound to be "tinny" at all. As others had reported the sound quickly goes from silent to loud.

The remote control only has one IR emitter on it, so if you are fairly close to the TV you need to point it toward the IR receiver to work properly. If you stand back a few feet, then you should have less problems. You best bet is to use a universal remote control (like the one provided by your satellite of cable provider), because many of them have at least 2 IR emitters giving you a wider range for transmission.

This TV also features a light sensor that can automatically adjust the picture in relation to the light in the room. Be aware you can't use this feature at the same time as the 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio feature. For me the dynamic contrast ratio feature works better for me.

For some reason Vizio doesn't advertise the fact that you have the ability to pause live TV (like a DVR), if you plug in a flash drive on the back of the TV. This TV also can play a play a slide-show of pictures on a flash drive.

For those that already own this TV and are unhappy with it, I would encourage you to exchange it at the store of purchase or have Vizio replace it. No one should have to live with the defect(s) if Vizio corrected it in later runs.
**UPDATE: I have seen that several other retail outlets are no longer carry this product, it appears it is being replaced by a more conventional design, that lacks the glossy screen. If you are interested in this product, be sure to get it as soon as soon as possible.
**UPDATE 2: Vizio as released a firmware update for this product (version 2.23), if you are having problems with this prodcut, be sure to download it. It may correct your issue.

Sony BRAVIA KDL40NX700 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV Review

(More customer reviews)I'll start this review now but maybe update it in future months, as I've noticed that the real test of any HDTV is how well it performs after it's a year old. As it is, we've had our NX700 for two months now, and I'm very pleased.
Some other reviewers can probably judge picture quality better than I can, and that's fine. I researched enough to know that this Sony model generally gets high marks for its picture. Someday I'm going to try out some picture adjustments I found during my research - but for now, it's still on its factory settings, and we all agree that it looks great for the kind of viewing we do.
What made me pick this TV, and the reason I'm glad I did, are its capabilities for component connections and internet features, particularly how well it does wirelessly. This is our bedroom TV, a place where we want to minimize external components, wires, generally all A/V clutter other than this wall-mounted HDTV. So the more it can do on its own, the better.
I consider the following features of the NX700 most important. And I couldn't find another HDTV in this price range that had everything below, besides other Sony models.
1) Analog audio out. Why is this so rare? The NX700 also has an optical digital audio output, but often the easiest way to bypass the tinny internal speakers (and all thin HDTV's have tinny speakers, not just this one) is to run its audio through anything you have nearby - a set of computer speakers, boombox, whatever. It shouldn't be a requirement to have a dedicated audio system near every TV in your house, you know?
2) PC (VGA) input. Most HDTV's have these but some do not (like most Panasonics). The NX700 also puts an separate analog audio input jack right near this input for convenience. And it all works well, we've used it few times already.
3) Wireless internet, and applets for NetFlix, Amazon VOD, YouTube, Pandora, Slacker (and a bunch of others that we probably won't use much if at all). Actually, this is the most meaningful feature of this TV for us right now, because we didn't know what to expect from wireless streaming in a location that gets a somewhat weak signal from the router. On the contrary, this TV does just fine - we've been streaming Amazon VOD regularly now, and even took a chance on streaming HD movies. With those, we did have one instance where the movie stopped and restarted a bit due to a weak signal, but it was only for a few minutes, and then it was fine. I think streaming HD in wireless with current technology is going to be dicey at best, but considering our not-perfect router signal, I was impressed with what it could do regardless.
4) DLNA capabilities. I never set up a computer to be a DLNA server before, but I found the instructions online and did it in 20 minutes. It really was that easy. After that, the TV was immediately able to play my music and view some pictures, just the ones I had enabled DLNA access to. Now I have to spend some time figuring out how I want to use this feature, since I never expected it to work so easily.
5) Other connections. We need a combination of HDMI, Composite and Component video inputs for our living room TV, and this TV was initially set up there. The NX700 has 4 HDMI inputs, including one apparently for PC-HDMI (why would that be any different?), and we're using two, plus the Composite and Component inputs. Other TV's do have more inputs, or the same, but some have less - and that would be a deal-breaker for our living room TV. As it is, everything we needed to plug into this Sony got plugged in and worked. No unplugging over and over, so no hassles switching between sources.
6) Built-in QAM tuner. All things told, this didn't work out to be a big deal after all. We'll probably always use our cable box, but it's nice to know there's an alternative if the need arises.
I considered and compared HDTV's in 37-to-42-inch sizes from Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and Toshiba. Sony had the only ones with every feature we needed. Also important is that it looks good off or on, and has some features you don't really notice, like automatically adjusting the brightness based on the room's current lighting. Again, I'll hold off skywriting its praises until after it's lasted for a few years but for the moment, I'm very happy we picked this HDTV.

I purchased this which is 1080P in resolution and way cheaper than the other 720P LED version from other companies. This Vizio just blew me away compared to other 26" LED tvs I looked at. Picture and sound is amazing, PC hook up makes this a great computer monitor as well. Has USB to view media so you can view your pictures that are on a flash drive. The black gloss finish just adds to it. Controller for TV also better than average. Maybe a little big for my taste. I'm used to the small apple remote. I also want to mention that this was by far the easiest TV to put the stand on. No screw driver needed, just slide in and twist the provided screw. I still can't believe I got such a great TV for the price. I hooked up my PS3 to this also and for any gamers out there, I never experienced any ghosting. If your looking to buy a new 26" LED TV you have a winner with this Vizio!

(More customer reviews)I actually picked this TV up for $239.99 on Black Friday. I had a couple of requirements that it fulfilled. I needed the thinnest, most energy-efficient TV with great vertical viewing angles, and real (physical) buttons. I know, weird specifications.
Of all of the TVs that I watched, including two different Vizios, an LG, and a Samsung, the Westinghouse had the best vertical viewing angles. I think people forget that we tend to mount these things so that we are looking up at them, and the vertical viewing is one of the most important specs. The other TVs were also CCFL-backlit, not LED, so they were much thicker and slightly heavier than this model.
Overall, for the price I paid, it was the best buy. If vertical viewing angles are not important to you, buy the Samsung. The color is more accurate, and the cabinet more stylish (although it is atrocious to watch from a lower angle). If price is the major factor, buy the Vizio (unwatchable from lower angles). Otherwise, the Westinghouse is your man.

When I first saw some reviews on Cnet I was a bit concerned, even though they listed the 40B7000 as their top choice they stated some cons regarding the viewing angle and some issues they noticed with the LED's being visible sometimes. This made me decide that I would view the screens in person as opposed to just purchasing on Amazon as I intended to do and really didn't think I needed to see in person. Never the less I'm glad I did because any fear I had was immediately irrelevant once I saw the set in person. Needless to say I saw none of the issues mentioned on Cnet and the set blew me away that I couldn't wait any longer and purchased right then! I have had the set for about 2 weeks and I kick myself every time I turn it on, everything looks just AMAZING!! It is the most beautiful TV I have ever seen. My mother and 2 of my friends who were in the market for TV's came over and all of them are purchasing the same set. I plan on getting the 55'' when I move into my new house! There are so many features I haven't even been able to figure out yet. You will not be disappointed with this product. Thank you Samsung!!!

I bought a samsung 3d tv (490 model) a few weeks ago. Was searching amazon for a good deal on the glasses and I stumbled across 2 different products with the same model number for the starter kit. One had what looked like an older version of the box and the other a newer picture with the Monster Vs. Aliens promo on the front. When comparing the 2 different listings, I found that they both came with 2 pairs of sunglasses and the MvA movie. The only difference I could find between the 2 was a price difference, mixed reviews for the one that seemed older, and maybe a cosmetic box difference. So after contemplating I decided to purchase what seemed to be the older version for a very low price of 135.00 for the box set(while the other was selling for 350.00) . I figured if I received them and they did not work I could just return them.
In 5 days I receive my package and open it up to find a pair of the glasses in the newer box with the MvA promo on the front. Open up the package and put in the MvA movie into my PS3 and put the glasses on and the 3d was working great.
I also downloaded a few of the 3d game demos in the ps store and they also worked great. I have not yet had any issues with these glasses.
These glasses fit fine over a pair of square frame glasses, although they are not the most comfortable or stylish, they don't bug to the point you want to take them off. Cant wait for more 3d titles to be released.Overall a great purchase at $135 and I dont think there is any difference between this and the other higher price product with the same model number.

(More customer reviews)technology innovations are going to cost more at the leading edge ... i have seven children at home, several grand children and grand parents who have all come over and watched the 3d movie (only one so far) ... we even watch some regular blue-ray movies in the simulated 3d mode, which is not as great, but it does add depth ... and no one has damaged the glasses, from age 2 (with parental supervision) to age 78 ... with lots of young hands turning the glasses on and off ... we have four of them, kid tested for over four months and all working and intact ... yes, they are not indestructable, they could be easily broken with carelessness, but you would think if something cost a hundred dollars, you would take care of them and not leave them to be sat on ... and for those who care, not one of us have had headaches or anything else after several hours at a time and over fifty hours over the four months ... and 3d is great ... the whole picture just has so much more realism (if one can have that in an animation film) ... just the individual hairs on the moth ... the many times you just put your hand out there cause you believe you can almost touch the picture ... just fabulous ... maybe not for everyone, but out of the sixty or so people who have watched at our house, not one of them was not impressed and everyone wants to know when we are getting our next 3d movie (more than likey meatballs this month) ... there has always been those who put technology down or believe everything should be indestructable and a cheap price ... well, the car, television, computer and many other advances have overcome those that are negative, (of course some advances have failed miserably) ... but my advice is to judge for yourself, i know a couple of box and department stores that have the tv and glasses for demonstrations ... take the time and see for yourself ...

(More customer reviews)I have only had it a week and it is my first HD TV and I think it is great. I bought it for the bedroom and watch it from about 12 feet away and the screen size in my opinion is perfect. I can see all the detail but the set is not so large as to be obtrusive.
Picture quality is excellent for over the air channels using a coax cable to an external antenna that is in the attic. Sound is good and I think the Energy Star rating is a plus. There is a option to enhance the frequencies of the human voice so I can better understand what is being said. I think this really works.
I had a gift card for Fry's so I did not buy from Amazon this time but I did research other brands and sizes here. Like I said this is my first HD but I have looked at a ton of them at Best Buy and Costco. I cannot remember seing another set that had a better picture but I haven't really seen too many of the smaller screen sizes. It may just look better because it is small but I cannot imagine what 1080 would give you over the 720 it has. The LED may have something to do with it as well. I have seen no motion blur or ghosting and it is 60hz refresh rate.

(More customer reviews)From the moment I opened the box, it was obvious I had made the right choice. This TV oozes quality in every single way.
The display is wonderful. It's not a matte display, but it has a relatively low reflection, not obnoxiously glossy like recent Apple products. The picture looks gorgeous, even off angle, and the unit and base have a high gloss black finish.
The features are well covered in the specs above (Netflix HD streaming capability, YouTube, a built in TV Guide using online data, DLNA support to play media off your PC over the network, 3D)
Looking for downsides, the use of the large 300x300 VESA mount is unfortunate, the display is lightweight and really doesn't need such a large mount. The built-in stand uses a separate mount that is much smaller, and you could make your own plate or L bracket for the display to slide onto.
The TV menus are in the style of a PS3 (XMB), but some of the animations are unacceptably slow. Perhaps this can be improved in a later firmware upgrade. Also, not all menu options are available until about 30 seconds after you turn on the display.
My display says it is "Made in Mexico".
Audio:
The built-in audio is acceptable, but I suspect most will want to use external audio with this display. There's a non-obvious setting to turn on "S-Force Front Surround" mode for the internal speakers which improves the perception of sound, and by default it doesn't try to reproduce low frequency bass.
Settings:
The display works well out of the box, but if you're feeling adventurous, there are many settings for both the display and audio (scene select, four motionflow settings, mpeg noise reduction, dynamic LED, low light recovery and bright light reduction, steady sound, audio clarity settings to emphasize the human voice)
3D:
At the moment I am not impressed after using the 3D mode. Technically it works as expected with Blu-Ray or a PC with NVIDIA 3DTV Play, but the display is so bright and gorgeous on its own that I prefer 3D off. Note that you must buy an optional Sony 3D sync transmitter and Sony 3D active shutter glasses to use the 3D mode.
Don't forget to buy an HDMI cable or two!

(More customer reviews)I just purchased this item along with a Samsung UN55C7000 and a Samsung BD-C6900. Let me just say, it's amazing. It came with a free movie, Monsters vs Aliens. The movie looks amazing on the TV.
The glasses didn't need any pairing or calibration as some people claim that it needs. It's just as simple as turning on the glasses. The 3D quality is top notch, however I've experienced a few 'glitches' so far. During different parts of the movie, I'll notice a 3D shadow of whatever item is on the screen. For example, in the beginning of the movie there is a church in a scene. The image of the church felt like as if the glasses weren't working correctly. The 3D was working, but it felt like it wasn't a clear 3D picture. Let me try to explain it a little different. You know when you have a 3D movie on the screen without the glasses? How you can see a blur of an image all together for each eye? When you put on the glasses, that image becomes one right? Well, imagine that image not coming together 100%. Having an "edge" of a blur and that's the issue I'm experiencing.
I've tried the other set of glasses only to have the same outcome. I've called Samsung to troubleshoot my issue and considering it's a new product, they said they have to call me back in 24-48 hours to see what's wrong. Oddly enough, I went to a local Best Buy and tried the exact same setup, except this time using the Rechargeable Samsung glasses, rather than the battery operated ones I have. I didn't experience the same issue. I've tried shifting settings around on both the TV and the Bluray player and have yet to get a fix for it. I'll update this post as more information comes.
