(More customer reviews)Being someone that is skeptical about warranties I took a chance and purchsed a warranty with squaretrade on my LCD TV, after it developed blue lines in it I contacted Squaretrade and was refunded in full immediately, I since purchased several of thier warranties including one on my larger replacement LCD TV, with a string of bad luck that TV went black on me, I again contacted squaretrade and was so impressed with their service and speed. They reviewed my claim, asked me some basic questions and determined that a full refund was the easiest solution, I had this TV for over two years at the time of the claim. I'm not a big warranty person, as most experts will say aftermarket warranties are not worth it, but this company has changed my outlook, the cost of the warranties I purchased for all my items were so minimal and the service was incredible and hassle free, you would have more of a problem if you tried to return something to a store than with squaretrade. I highly recommend you pick up one of squaretrades warranties for any device, large or small. I can say it is WELL worth the small amount they charge.

(More customer reviews)I purchased a square trade warranty for a ltc tv/hd dvd combo 2 years ago and it was good for 5 years. When the hd dvd player went out, the square trade warranty folks responded to my query in less than 2 hours. When I explained that I did not want to ship the tv/dvd player combo in for a refund of purchase price because I was disabled and used the tv for a computer monitor as well as to play dvds, the square trade folks were incredibly compassionate and with simply turing in a statement that the hd dvd player did not work, they refunded a portion of the money within hours so I could purchase a separate player to go with the tv. These folks are incredibly kind, very helpful and make using the warranty very easy and convenient, which is much appreciated as my disability would make it very difficult if I had purchased an in-store warranty. I strongly encourage everyone to purchase a square trade warranty. If you need to make good on the warranty, you will find these folks very easy to deal with. I had purchased a warranty on a computer from another company and they were condesending, took over a year to fix the computer and when it still didn't work right, they basically told me to get lost. Square trade was a pleasure after that negative experience and I will be sure to get Square Trade on any electronics I purchase in the future. Peace and Goodwill.

It is protection for an "investment" in a "substantial electronic purchase" and WELL worth the money, compared to the "out-of-pocket" costs on the chance that some unforeseen "quirk" or "defect" makes itself known shortly after the manufacturers warranty expires.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product and suggest you consider it's purchase if you invest in expensive electronic equipment such as an HDTV, digital camera or camcorder or other electronic device.

(More customer reviews)I have purchased 3 warranties on various products this past year. My 15" Flat Screen being one of them. It worked great for about 6 months. I filled out a claim, they first thought that my TV was under a manufacturer warranty. I contacted them showing them it was only under that warranty for 90 days, so they reviewed my claim for me then and there and authorized a full refund - here's how it went.
They emailed me, with a link to a shipping label, I packed up the tv and shipped back to them the same day. They kept me informed about the progress of the shipping almost on a daily basis, inspected it - took 2-3 days then contacted me with the news that they would send me a refund. I received my full refund - this took a total of 10 days from start to finish.
I'm extremely pleased with their service and was pleasantly surprised (not something that happens often) that Square Trades is as reputable as they say.
I will certainly be buying other warranties from Square Trades in the future.

(More customer reviews)I have a SquareTrade warranty on a large screen 42 inch HDTV. I specifically purchased this warranty because of the SquareTrade reputation and previous warranties I purchased. This warranty stated when I purchased it that any TV over 32 inches would require in home service.
To make a long story short. SquareTrade advised me that their new policy is to have TVs up to 42 inches sent to their authorized repair depot. I waited 11 days to receive the box and never received a return postage paid label. I am 50 years old in decient shape but I needed a neighbor to help me disconnect the TV from the wall and it was still heavy. We had a very difficult time removing the TV from the wall bracket. The box they sent was too small the box ripped as we attampted to place the heavy TV in the box. I felt the box and packaging had it not been too small would have not fully protected the TV from the vigors on how UPS treats their packages anyway.
I complained to SquareTrade by phone for about the 4th or 5th time since my claim and they finally advised they would reimburse me the full price paid for my TV. My neighbor and I immediately struggled and placed the TV curbside for the garbage men to take. Note: I was informed after my 5rd call that I could have had the TV fixed and they would have paid for it but felt it should have been been handled that way from the start.
I am still waiting and hoping to receive my check as I write. SquareTrade has to think about senior citizens or single females that purchased TVs and warranties through SquareTrade that the last thing they want to do is have to wait for a box, package the TV to send it to the depot, wait for USP to send 2 men in a truck and hope the TV get to its destination without damage from transit.
Its day 14 now without a TV. I will purchase another TV but this time it will be over 42 inches so I don't have to repackage it in a box when it fails to function.

(More customer reviews)I purchased a 42" flat screen tv a few years ago, and was naturally concerned about what to do after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty had expired. The store offered its own extended warranty program, but I was hesitant about putting down hundreds of dollars for a 3 year extended warranty. Surely there was something more economical with the same, or better service?
I heard, via word of mouth, of a third-party alternative called Squaretrade. Intrigued, I checked reseller ratings, and was very shocked to see a lifetime rating of 9.7. I read many of the reviews, and they all consistently praised ST's dedication to fulfilling its warranty promises. Of the few that were not pleased with ST service (and some of them were the customer's fault), I was impressed by the follow-up messages left by ST's representatives to resolve the situation.
Convinced, I ended up purchasing a 3 year warranty through Squaretrade, for just ~$40. ST runs monthly %-off discounts, so you can always get a very good bargain. To clarify, if I remember correctly, the 3 year warranty is really a 2 year warranty, since the first year overlaps with the first year of the manufacturer's warranty. However, you should read the fine print to double check.
Talk about knocking on wood. My TV broke recently, and so I submitted my claim form to ST, which primarily comprised faxing a copy of my receipt to them (don't throw it away!), and describing my problem. I was expecting a reply a few months later, but Squaretrade promises resolution in less than week. I was shocked to find in my email inbox, a message from ST indicating that since it was cost prohibitive to ship my TV back to them for repairs, they would instead be refunding my original purchase price in its entirety, through PayPal. Sure enough, the money was sent the next day.
This is legendary service, the kind consumers dream about. You can buy a ST warranty with complete confidence, and be assured of their guarantees. Regarding TVs, they will not cover certain issues, e.g. burn-in on a plasma, and lamp replacements on DLPs. Again, check the fine print (don't worry, there's not too much to read).
I'm going to be buying all my warranties through ST in the future, recommending them to my friends and families, and making sure my children, and my children's children buy Squaretrade warranties. I wholeheartedly recommend them (and no, I'm not getting paid by ST to write this review).
