There were number of options available to choose from, and this one was not rated,
nor reviewed. Yet, I choose this option because Technical Characteristics were explicit: "new lamp in the housing".
The most rated option, which was a little cheaper, did not have such explicit details. Also reviews were somewhat confusing because some customers complained about getting the lamp wihouth the housing.
Well, I made the right choice and would highly recommend this dealer.
The lamp arrived much earlier than promised delivery date, and an installation was very easy. For those, who think this could be a hassle, do not worry. You do not even have to move your TV - the lamp entry is on the righ side of the TV.
Good luck !

Sony XL2100U - Projection TV replacement lamp Review

Sony XL2100U - Projection TV replacement lamp

I bought this lamp to replace the original on my Sony 50" LCD projection TV, model KF-50WE610, that I bought a little over three years ago. The installation took about 30 minutes, but now that I've done it once, it'll probably take 10 minutes next time.
The hardest part was removing the front panel cover. First, loosen the screws around the back on either side. What I did then was start at the right side, getting it loosened up there, and then sort of wedging it out as I moved over to the left side.
Once you get the main face plate off, the lamp housing is right in the middle. Remove the plastic plate in front of the lamp, and unscrew the lamp with the included 3mm Allen wrench (well, it was included in *mine*). Pull out the old lamp, pop the new one in, tighten it down (not too tight), and put the lamp cover back on. Check that old lamp, you'll probably see the blown-out filament. At this point, plug the TV in. If the red light glows steady, you're good. If it blinks, the lamp is not installed solidly. Try removing and reseating it.
Once you've got it, pop the main face plate back on. There are three little sockets (on my TV anyway) that the face plate pops into. You'll see them when you have it off - this is what makes removing the face plate a little tough. Pop those in by just pressing on the face plate at those points. You should feel (and hear) them pop in. Once they're in, tighten up the mounting screws on the back sides of the TV. Voila! You saved yourself probably $150 by doing it yourself. Now, do your best imitation of Tom Hanks in the scene in Castaway where he makes the bonfire, and proclaim "I...(thump chest)...have replaced the projection lamp in my TV!"

Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100/B 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black Review

I have had a Westinghouse 1080p 42inch monitor for a few years and have really been pleased with it. However, with the new features on the market (120hz, 24p, etc) I was ready to upgrade. I initially ordered a Samsung LN46A550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. The picture was actually really good on this set, but the glare on the case was VERY annoying. It also lacked the features I was looking for in a new set, but I tried it out because the price was so good. The glare was too much to put up with, so I sent it back and started to research Sony's since they are one of the few sets on the market that you can still get without a glossy case.
I sure am glad that I found Bravia Z series! WIthout going up to an XBR, the Z series is the way to go. If you look at the specs - most of the high end features offered by the XBR are already in the Z series, so it is a really good value when viewed that way. It makes sense why the Z is not offered in a 52 inch size - it would probably really impact sales of the XBR. What a great looking TV (both the picture and the case). I have been extremely impressed with both the blacks on this LCD as well as the vivid colors it produces. The amount of picture calibration offered on this setup is remarkable - especially compared to my old Westinghouse. I find the 24p mode on Blue Ray disk to be quite impressive - it really adds a whole new level of enjoyment to watching Blue Ray movies. The 120hz mode is also wonderful when watching football. I really cannot say enough good things about this TV - spend the extra money that the Sony brand demands, and you get what you pay for.
Although I did not have the issue with this TV, there is a lot of discussion around the Internet about a sparkle issue that this TV has. Be advised that this was an issue, but Sony has released a firmware update that resolves the problem. I have done the update and everything is running great.
If you are on the fence between this and the Samsung LN46A650 (which is in the same feature class as the Sony), be aware that the Samsung has a very glossy screen - not to mention a sure to be dated red outline on the case. This really kills one of the great features of LCD's! The only Samsung I would even consider against this Sony is the Samsung LN46A550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, but it lacks 120hz, 24p, and has that hideous glossy case. It seems to me that there is no viable competitor to the Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100!
Another side note... When my TV was delivered they also picked up the Samsung for return. The delivery guys were telling me that they have to pickup Samsungs EVERY day because people are returning them. He said they have never had to pickup a Sony. This is proved if you look at the used/new link under the Samsung and Sony's - you will see tons of open box Amazon Warehouse Deals on the Samsungs - but none on the Sony's!

Bought this TV plus Sony BDV-T11 (Blu-ray Home Theater). Now, I can put a DVD in, and it turns on TV and starts playing onscreen! No menu surfing. Very nice! Easy out-of-the-box setup. As other reviewers mentioned...Turn off light sensor!!! Sony should disable this feature. It really does make the picture quality look really bad. Thanks to previous reviewers for mentioning this. You save me hours of grief.
My main concern was reliability. I heard about most reliable being the three "S":
-Sony
-Samsung
-Sharp
I saw too many posts mentioning Sharp power supply failures. Same for some Panasonic plasmas from last 2-3 years. Also heard some complaints about some of the Samsung models. Much less with this Sony model. So, I decided to buy it. I hope this post helps. God bless you and good luck!

I first bought the Vizio 42 inch VIA with internet apps. The TV just did not seem responsive at times, and you could not hook into your home network. I noticed this Sony and read into it. It allows you to connect to your home network and access video, music and other files off your home computer. It also has about 60 or so apps. A few months ago this TV was around $2000.00. I bought it at Sam's Club for half of that price. Amazing picture quality, way better than the Vizio LCD. So for abouth the same price as the Vizio 42" LCD, I got a 46" LED LCD SONY HDTV with all the things I wanted. Also the TV comes with the WIFI adapter to connect wirelessly to your home router. I believe the first shipment of this model did not come with the adapter and had to purchased seperately for around $75. So that is a nice addition. This TV is perfect for my family. Since we have gotten rid of DISH and cable. I just use windows media center to record all my favorite shows and then watch them by accessing them through the Sony Bravia Network connection on the TV. Also have a $9 Netflix subscription to stream videos instantly so the kids get to watch their shows as well. Since we are hardly home to watch TV with 3 children and full time employment, my wife and I decided to go this route. Much cheaper for us!
Get this TV it is great. JK

I have been doing research on a new TV for months. Choosing the size was the easiest part based on the space I wanted to fill. Room is very bright, so LCD was the likely choice; although I didn't rule out the new Panasonic plasmas with their anti glare, but they are lacking in picture adjustments. The Samsungs are all generally too reflective. I saw the new Sony W5100 and started watching that model. I was waiting for some reviews to read some opinions, but it was too new. I had decided to go with the W5100 based on the price, energy efficient, and the fact that I had read that there really wasn't a discernible difference between 120hz and 240hz. Choosing the sony brand was based on the fact that netflix will be available this fall, and that I have a PS3. I finally decided on the Z5100 because I saw it in the store and noticed the bezel was nice and thin, and that the tv speakers pointed forward. Most flat panels' speakers point down, so I figured it would help when watching broadcast tv to have the speakers pointed forward. Not the most 'scientific' method of selection.
I am very happy with this TV. The picture is great, the sound is great, no issues with glare, the internet content works (although I am still waiting for netflix, I did get an Amazon credit for VOD to try out), and the PS3 looks amazing.
My suggestion to anyone researching a new tv is to really nail down your requirements first, then choose some models that fit, and finally narrow it down from there based on features. Then head to a store to really look them over. I found myself almost getting too caught up in reading reviews. I found many negative points that, in retrospect, were very nit picky, so don't get too caught up; if you notice, this model only has positives at this point. I was also comparing energy usage figures on crutchfield. Most energy tests are based on a minimum of 6-8 hours of usage per day, which I don't do. If you avoid the Vivid mode and stick to standard or cinema, you will be fine with energy usage.
Amazon's price was perfect; I had been watching a handful of tvs for a couple months and monitoring prices. The delivery was ok. The package was damaged on one corner, as if a fork lift had punctured it. The tv has a tiny little nick that is only noticeable if you run your finger ever so slowly along the bezel. So it wasn't big enough to send it back.
If you decide on this tv, you are making a great choice. I haven't calibrated it yet, but may do so when cnet posts some numbers.

Sony XL-2400 Replacement Lamp for Grand WEGA 3LCD Rear Projection HDTV Review

When our TV's lamp went out, I was a little concerned about how hard it would be to change this thing out... I'm a computer geek by trade, but I honestly don't know a lot about HD televisions. I took a quick look at my TV's manual, and had learned how to pop the lamp in and out in just a few minutes.
Basically, you pop open one panel, turn a lever and pull out another panel, grab the old lamp by hook/finger handle, gently pull up and out. Push the new one in until it pops into place, make sure you replace the inner panel properly (the one with the lever, if not secured properly, the TV won't turn on), then pop the outer panel back on and there you have it, a TV again.
Our lamp has been in for several months, and the image quality (especially brightness) seems to be as good as I remember the stock lamp. Having said that, it may be the stock lamp.
Summary: if your WEGA or whatever goes black and this lamp fits into your unit, then get one. I like a bright TV in a dark room, as does my wife. We've both put this replacement lamp to it's paces, not to mention we leave the TV on when we're not home.
