(More customer reviews)Didn't receive what was on description. Seller explained it was the latest model according to Samsung. I had ordered LA32B450 and they sent me LA32C450. Checking up on Internet the only place they had this model number was in New Zealand and Australia??
After seller said it was same but newer model I hooked it up and found out that this TV only had TV setttings NZ, Singapore and Aussie (time etc) It has multi voltage but Specification states:
TV system Analouge: Depending on your country selection (which in this case would be country above)
Digital: DVB-T/ DVB-C
Colour/Video Syst:Analoge (PAL,SECAM & NT443)Digital (MPEG2 MPEG4...)
Sound: BG, OK NICAM, MPEGI
No Tuner is ever mentioned.
Unfortely I have not been able to try it in other countries yet but will be interesting to see if it will pick anything since I will use first in South America then Europe. Maybe it just will be a more expencive and larger DVD player screen.

(More customer reviews)I have way too many TVs in my home (including two other Samsungs) but I needed a small TV for the guest bedroom. Our cable provider provides all of the local TV channels (including all of the HDTV channels) on the basic cable, in the clear -- without a set-top box. The catch, of course, is that you need a TV with a built-in ATSC tuner to recieve those channels. This is one of the few small TVs I've seen with ATSC, although most will have it by the end of the year.
Setup is incredibly easy - plug in the power, connect the antenna (or cable) and let the TV do its thing. My Samsung found all of the available channels and added them to its memory in about 10 minutes.
I am also impressed with this TV's flexibility -- it can accept just about any type of input signal, including HDMI (3! inputs), Component, and good old composite video.
Picture quality is very good, and the built-in speakers are surprisingly good. I also like Samsung's new all-white case design. I have the older 23" Samsung (also in white) in my office, and this set is much nicer looking.

Samsung LNT4071F 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

(More customer reviews)I researched the 81 and 71 series for as long as they had been announced (~ 6 months, since CES show). I got all hopped up about the "100k" contrast ratio on the 81 series due completely to the new "LED" backlighting. Well, at AVS forums, one guy bought both, and concluded that it only mattered when the screen was totally black (like the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen when watching a wide screen formatted movie, or a fade scene), and then only a little. The general conclusion seemed to point to the 71 series being the sleeper hit so far this year (dunno about the xbr5, but some reports put this one right with it), and that the 81 series wasn't worth the extra grand or more.
Too late for me, because I rushed into BB to pay up front for an 81 series tv as soon as the store had the sku in their system (4 weeks before they even showed up). Yeah, I got to use a 12% off good customer coupon, but in the end I could have had a 52" 71 series instead of a 46" 81 series (especially seeing how heavily discounted they are now on Amazon). The anti-motion options in the 81 are only available in "movie" mode, and are buried in the menus, and only has an on/off option, versus the 71's easy to navigate 3 level options for the anti-motion feature.
The reviews point to the colors and picture appearing just about the same between the 2 tv's when the screen or a large portion of it wasn't all black. Other than that....get this one. It is worth the premium over the 61 or 65 series. As long as you can live with a glossy / semi-glossy screen (versus the xbr4/5's matte screens), you won't be sorry. As for me, I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and be one of those turkeys who uses the 30 day guarantee to return the TV and get a 71 series...it is a lot of money not to be totally satisfied with the purchase. Just installed one of these. No problems and works fine with my Samsung 46-inch LCD.
Instructions are clear and complete. They are generic instructions for a variety of televisions but include an 18-page list of TV models indicating exactly which of the bolts, spacers, washers, etc. are to be used with each model. Each variety and size of this miscellaneous hardware comes individually packaged and labeled to match the instructions.
The general idea is to attach the wall plate to the wall; attach the brackets to the TV; then hang the TV (via the brackets) on the wall plate.
A few installation hints:
1) It is a two-person job so plan on having some help. A second person is a big help when lining up the wall-plate to be sure you drill the holes so that the TV ends up level and in the position you want. And, chances are your TV is too heavy or bulky to be moved safely by one person anyway.
2) You will want to read and re-read the instructions before you start.
3) Once you have a feel for the instructions use a yellow highlighter to mark information specific to your situation and to mark the packaging for the bolts, etc. you need.
4) Use of a small mirror and flashlight can help you direct the long allen wrench to the bolts that lock the brackets to the wall plate. Holding the flashlight is another place where a second pair of hands can help.
5) Do not adjust nor lock-in the tilt until after you have connected the wires to the back of the TV. Better yet, attach them before hanging the TV onto the wall plate.
UPDATE:
I read in another review that you should have a level and a stud finder. I probably should have mentioned that in my hints above but didn't think to since I already had those things. So, I agree, you will want to use those to do the job correctly. For the stud finder, get a reasonably good one as the cheap ones are not much better than tapping on the wall and listening for the best sounding spots. I have a Zircon 60369 Studsensor I65 Onestep Center Finding Stud Finder (which I bought at Lowe's). It says "Center Finding" but what I like is the way it also identifies the edges of studs. If I can get repeatable locations on both edges and the center then I believe I have found the stud! Zircon sells more expensive models so if you have difficult walls (e.g. plywood, or plaster with lath) you may want to consider those, but this model worked fine for my typical 5/8" drywall over 2x4 studs, even with some plaster over the drywall.
Another good tip I saw was to attach the brackets to the TV first thing. This will allow you to measure more carefully exactly where you want the wall plate. Come to think of it, this is exactly what I did, but for a different reason. I wanted to be sure the brackets would fit my TV before committing myself to drilling holes in the wall!
UPDATE2 (18 Aug 2010):
Got a second flat panel so got another one of these. It has slightly changed since my last purchase but is essentially the same -- which is a good thing. The reason for this update is to point out that the "18-page list of TV models" mentioned above is no longer included in the package -- which is NOT a good thing.
The instructions send you to a web page, but all that does is tell you which mount to buy for a particular TV model and not which mounting hardware to use. But you already know which mount to buy or you wouldn't be reading the instructions! I resorted to calling the 800 number to find out which hardware to use. I suppose I could have done some trial-and-error but I asked since I'd rather not risk messing up mismatched threads. So I knocked off a star based on decreased ease of installation.
P.S. Their web page didn't even recognize my TV (Panasonic TC-P50G25) which is neither a particularly new nor obscure model.

(More customer reviews)It isn't the design of this LCD that earns merit, although it is a rather timeless looking item and will look smart in any situation. It's the feature set, and there is certainly far more function over form than meets the casual eye!
Pros:
- Can be set to auto detect the exact input source resolution and display the image without any stretching. This is great if you play games that might need 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050. Your treasured vintage game collection will still look splendid!
- Has a great software tool that will set the correct color / contrast / brightness balance. Make sure you run MagicBright after installation - the image is stellar once you have this set.
- Low power consumption - do your bit for Gaia ;-)
- The memory resident tools do not task the CPU.
- Tack sharp display with almost non-existant light bleed at the edges
- Games look superb!
- No dead pixels
- Comfortable viewing size - I find larger displays somewhat taxing on the eyes
- Has a great tool that can divide your display into various logical units - a bit mike having multiple displays - very cool as this makes apps snap into the regions just like extra displays
- Amazing price - 2ms + 20,000:1 contrast ratio + Samsung quality + auto resolution detect + much more!
Cons:
- No height adjustment - but by no means a show-stopper when you bear in mind the spec.
- Tilt only tilts away, not towards you. The assumption is that you will be looking down at the screen up to horizontal, which is ergonomically incorrect. The user should have the option to view at 90 degrees or above to avoid neck strain. I resolved this by buying a sturdy stand so I can have the mid-screen point at eye level ;-)
- No frame color options - just translucent burgundy, which looks blackish most of the time in low light conditions.
- Software installation is confusing. It recommends that you download the latest software. When you click the link, it's very unclear what you need to do. I couldn't see a option for the T220, so I just installed what was on the disk and everything ran fine. You must run the software installer using Internet Explorer, otherwise you need to manually run the install exe from the CD.

(More customer reviews)Was worth the wait! Nice deep blacks and bright whites for a super clear picture. Rich colors, but most impressed by the life like motion. 240hz makes a difference. I really wanted true LED back lit because the edge lit versions from the other brands at the same price appeared a little washed out. To get the same quality on a more well known brand like sony or samsung you'll need to spend about $600 more. Internet apps are cool, but not sure how much I'll use
them since my panasonic blu-ray has this too and seems to handle video more smoothly from the web.
I pre-ordered for $1399. All in all a great deal for high end non-3D LED tv.
