(More customer reviews)This is by far the best LED 26" you can buy. I first purchased the LG LED 26" but found that picture was not that great when connected to a computer plus price not that great. I purchased this which is 1080P in resolution and way cheaper than the other 720P LED version from other companies. This Vizio just blew me away compared to other 26" LED tvs I looked at. Picture and sound is amazing, PC hook up makes this a great computer monitor as well. Has USB to view media so you can view your pictures that are on a flash drive. The black gloss finish just adds to it. Controller for TV also better than average. Maybe a little big for my taste. I'm used to the small apple remote. I also want to mention that this was by far the easiest TV to put the stand on. No screw driver needed, just slide in and twist the provided screw. I still can't believe I got such a great TV for the price. I hooked up my PS3 to this also and for any gamers out there, I never experienced any ghosting. If your looking to buy a new 26" LED TV you have a winner with this Vizio!

(More customer reviews)I've spent the last 2 months researching my next television purchase. I'm one of those people that over-researches the pros and cons of any major purchase. I specifically set out at the beginning of my research to purchase a television for my finished basement. Since I can easily control ambient light pretty much any display technology was on the table - Plasma, LCD, LED-LCD, DLP, etc. I love the picture quality of DLP sets but ultimately decided to rule out that technology mainly because of the size (width) and the fact that I would eventually need to replace a bulb. I decided against traditional CCFL LCD displays too despite owning a Sharp Aquos LC46D84U. That essentially left me with LED-LCD and Plasma technology. After going back and forth I finally ended up deciding to go with Plasma. I think ultimately the deciding factors for me were the overall picture quality and cost.
I've been using my TC65S2 for about the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely floored by the picture quality. I'm actually surprised at how much better the display looks than my Sharp Aquos. Black levels are incredibly detailed, inky-black that leaves my Aquos' display looking like it can only generate gray instead of a true black level. Out of the box the TV came on 'vivid' setting which makes colors impressively "pop" on-screen, however, it somewhat distorts flesh-tones and makes people appear a bit orange. I used my DVE HD Basics calibration disc and calibrated my TC65S2 myself. It's probably not as good as a professional calibration but I feel satisfied enough with the results.
The TV comes with additional pre-settings such as 'Cinema' and 'Game'. I've used both and I'm happy to say that the settings are actually useful. I use a PS3 for both gaming and watching Blu-ray movies. The cinema setting on BD movie playback tones down the overall brightness and gives movies a 'warm' color setting similar to movie theaters. The 'Game' setting is impressive too and maintains a good black level while increasing the overall color levels. I can honestly say that after playing God of War 3 on my Aquos and again on this set, it's like playing a different game. There are many areas in GoW3 that are extremely dark and I'm now noticing details that just weren't there with my Aquos. Everything looks cleaner, more detailed and colors are more accurate.
Aesthetically, Panasonic seems to trail Samsung, Sony and Sharp. While those companies have invested significantly in the looks over everything from their bezel to the remote, Panasonic maintains a cleaner and simpler look. Personally I don't have a problem with the subdued look - I'm more interested in the picture quality than anything else. That said the TV does have a pleasant piano-black glossy finish. That continues with the rather simple wedge-shaped stand that is included. The remote unfortunately leaves something to be desired. Perhaps most importantly it is not back-lit. Simple things like adjusting the volume in a dark room are easy due to the shape of the particular key, however, changing the input for example is not. I believe that the G-2x & VT Panasonic plasmas do offer a better & back-lit remote. After the first week or so I finally had the time to program my Harmony for my new TV and I won't miss the Panasonic remote at all.
The included television speakers are adequate but nothing impressive. Honestly, at 65" I think most folks that purchase a set like this are doing so for a home theater and have surround sound. I used the included speakers for about a day before I switched over to my home theater speakers.
Feature wise the S2 might be called "bare-bones" by some. Personally I was on the fence about getting a G25 or jumping up to the VT (3D) series. Ultimately though I think 2 things swayed me to the S2. First the size; I wanted to create a home theater setting and the G25 tops out at 54". Panasonic does make a 65" VT25 that is full-HD 3D, however, that set is around the $4000 dollar mark. With such limited 3D offerings currently on the market I just couldn't justify the price. Second, the extra bells and whistles in the more expensive sets like the G25 and VT series are nice though I'm not sure how often I'd watch YouTube videos or listen to Pandora radio on my TV. The Netflix integration is probably the best feature, however, I'm already getting that with my PS3. For someone looking for a TV with a great picture and not really interested in peripheral features, the S2 is the way to go!
Lastly, for those not aware Panasonic was recently in a bit of a scandal - at least as far as AV enthusiasts go - with their plasma sets. It seems that after varying degrees of usage Panasonic plasma TVs started losing their deep-black level. There is a lot of discussion on various AV sites about the severity of the issue but as noted by CNET's reviewing editors it does happen and it is an issue with the 2009 and earlier sets. For the S2, Panasonic is using a new Neo-PDP panel and it remains to be seen what will happen. This was an issue that nearly derailed my purchase of this set. However, after reading more into the issue and the fact that the change is gradual - not something that happens overnight - I felt like I could go ahead and make the purchase. I'll follow up in the months to come to this review and make comments as necessary. I'm hoping that with the 2010 sets Panasonic was able to mitigate the problem. Time will tell.
Other information:
- In the box this TV weighs in at 165lbs! The TV alone weighs 123lbs and 137lbs with the included stand. Be sure to have adequate help when setting up this TV! Fortunately Panasonic designed hand grips into the back of the set to make is somewhat less unwieldy.
- I've noticed that when using HDMI directly to my PS3 I can utilize some of the Viera-Link features. For example when I switch my television input to my PS3 it automatically powers on my PS3. Kind of a neat feature that I thought was only compatible with Panasonic products that are Viera-Link enabled.
- This features 3x HDMI inputs and 2x Component inputs. There are additional inputs for composite and SDHC. The S2 series lacks a lot of the additional inputs that you gain with the G2x or VT series like USB, ethernet, RS232C, PC, etc.
- For such a large plasma television, the S2 does not generate as much heat as I expected. Even after recently watching a long movie and then a World Cup soccer match the TV wasn't hot.

UPDATE 7/5/10:
One minor annoyance I just noticed today is that the volume controls are not unique to the input. Not a big deal if you're using a home theater setup as the TV volume wouldn't matter - just something that I noticed will tinkering around with my set.

It is not super heavy duty but strong enough for new larger LCD TVs
(you might want a heavy duty hanger for larger heavy plasma TVs)
1. You fist assemble the vertical bars then secure it to the wall.
2, You then attach the back plate and TV holding bar to your TV
(it even comes with spacer and many many screws for different type of VESA standard mount, nice!)
3. You then hang your TV to the mount (using the hooks on the top of the TV plate)
4. Slide your TV left or right to position you want
5. Adjust the tile angle with the built-in screw with handle (nice feature)
6. Screw down the 2 secure screws at the bottom of the mount so the TV will not accidentally pop-out.
7. Enjoy your TV.
This is really a good deal (Thirty something with shipping, very good deal).
BTW, the bubble level come in the mount is not mount properly. Use a good leveler instead.
This mount looks very much like the CheetaMount but cheaper.

(More customer reviews)I bought this TV from Video and Audio Center and I received it less than a week after I ordered it. The LCD screen looks amazing, the colors are vivid and they are very sharp. My roommate had a brand new Pioneer Elite PRO 60" Plasma (an $8,000 TV), so when he moved and took it with him I didn't think I would be satisfied with anything less. I was definitely wrong, the HD experience (based on my perception) is much better on the Sharp LCD. I am still trying to adjust to the realistic look of the picture. The setup was very easy. I also have a very large living room with lots of windows, so I was worried about the lighting, but the OPC feature works very well adjusting the backlight automatically. At first I was hesitant to buy this TV due to the lack of reviews, but it was definitely worth the risk.
In case you are interested, I bought the "Sanus VMPL3-B Tilt Wall Mount for 27" to 84" Displays", and even though it was not very easy to setup, it is of great quality.

(More customer reviews)I already knew I wanted Plasma over LCD. So I spent weeks reading reviews and comparing specs of everything from Panasonic G15/G10 & S1 to Samsungs B650, B560, and B550. I came to the conclusion that Samsung has better color accuracy and Panasonic has better black levels. However, Panasonic also has better customer service and a lower percentage of TV's with issues. There has been numerous reports of the Samsung 2009 B series Plasma's having a "buzzing" issue. While they scared me a little, I decided that the TV for me was the Samsung PN50B560.
If you are comparing Samsungs, the B560 has the Crystal Full HD Engine with Cinema Smooth, while the B550 does not. The B650 also has Crystal Full HD Engine with Cinema Smooth, but an with an added feature, an ethernet port for using widgets, like weather, sports, stocks, etc... Something I've read is very slow and not very impressive. The 650 also has the red touch of color bezel. The 550 and 560 both have charcoal blended in, which I preferred.
I am pleased with the colors and black levels of this TV. I also have a Panasonic 50PX80U and I can't tell much of a difference. Physically, the TV is also very attractive, much nicer than Panasonic, and the swivel stand is also nice to have.
Defending the common CONS:
Buzz: My TV does not buzz
Speakers: They sound fine, my Panasonic sounds slightly better. But speakers in flat panel TV's are not going to be impressive, I think people just expect to much out of them.
Glare: Yes, there will be some glare, its a Plasma. However, compared to other Plasma's I looked at in the store, it's not a big difference. I didn't make it a factor.
In summary, if you are on a budget, I recommend the Samsung B560 or B550. If you can spare an extra few hundred more, go with a Panasonic G15 or G10. When it comes down to it, you'll be happy with any of these choices, unless you are a videophile, you'll never notice the difference.

(More customer reviews)This TV has an amazing picture. Great deep blacks and vibrant colors. You must have a good clean HD signal to fully appreciate this TV. I have an RCA amplified HD antenna (rabbit ears) and the World Cup 2010 games are superb. I leave the settings on SPORTS mode and play with the brightness and color settings depending on the content. The NET TV feature is nice. It requires an internet connection through WIFI (wireless) or ethernet (wire). VUDU is great for instantly renting movies and the quality is excellent. The other content needs better programming in the future.
PROS: Great dynamic picture, Low power consumption (1.3 AMPS), Aesthetically pleasing beautiful design, only 2 inches thick, great menus, good remote control unit, low price.
CONS: NO ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT JACK.

I'm sorry Panny fanboys but the picture on the current models just looks dingy. The older ones were much nicer. Maybe they made too many compromises for the "eco" thing. And WAY reflective. Anyway, the Samsung came today, no more calibration that setting it to "movie" mode (will wait til after break-in for that). Watching a show about quasars & pulsars on DirecTV HD Channel (720p) and we are saying "whoo" and "wow" just like watching fireworks. The colors are vivid, but not harsh (like LCD's can be). No banding, jaggies. Incredibly detailed, but smooooth. It's just amazing. Flesh tones so natural it's like you're looking at a real person. This replaced a calibrated Samsung 56" DLP, which I preferred to anything I'd ever seen before (had it's caveats but LCD RPTVs were positively hazy at that time so I went with DLP since the rainbow thing was rare and didn't bother me - kind of pretty actually.) But this just blows it away. It's like the fog has lifted. Hot? Yes, it's putting off some heat; but I live in a cold climate (SF) so no big deal. Buzzing? If you put your ear right next to it (the hard drive in my DVR is way louder) but then I'm essentially at sea level, supposedly higher altitudes worsen that. Reflections? Yes, but nowhere as bad as CRT or (ahem) the current generation of MacBooks. It's glossy but subdued. For the first time I have an in-home viewing experience superior to a movie theatre. Just can't emphasize how natural the picture is. I hope Samsung & Panasonic will continue this technology. I love LCD TV for the kitchen, it's fine for watching the news, and great on the computer for static images, but this is a true videophile experience. Like MP3's (which sound great) vs full uncompressed quality digital sound. I can see how (especially sports oriented viewers) might prefer LCD - it's bright, sharp, vivid (especially if you're looking straight on - not so great off center). But if you want to see subtlety in light, shadow, cinematography - this new tech plasma is the way to go. Maybe the key is you need a technology where the pixels are producing their own light. The last time a picture was so smooth, natural, detailed to my eye were the last generation of Sony CRT Trinitron Wega sets. Perhaps OLED will be the next step up but I'm very happy with this. And Amazon's price, white-glove delivery, return policy can't be beat.The guys from Pilot unboxed it and made sure it was working before they left. Hauled it up 2 flights of stairs. I can't believe this marvel of technology was cheaper than a decent laptop.
